TRICOTAN PA
DESCRIPTION:
TRICOTAN PA is a synthetic organic resin tanning
agent. It is a water-soluble, polycarboxylic acid salt.
CHEMICAL NATURE:
Polymeric carboxylate, ammonium salt.
APPLICATION:
TRICOTAN PA is compatible with most tannery process
materials except for chrome tanning material, with which
it reacts, causing a slight precipitation. However, this
property is utilized to obtain full and tight bellies and
shanks. TRICOTAN PA is used on chrome tanned
leather and East Indian tanned hides and shins to give
soft and tight leather. TRICOTAN PA gives a good
build-up with black dyes on leather.
EXAMPLE OF APPLICATION:
Use 5.0 – 10.0 of TRICOTAN PA on salted or pelt
weight.
