L e concept :
Initialement prévue comme une manche du championnat d’Europe de planche à voile freestyle,
le Freestyle Project s’est transformé en un évènement «à part» du circuit classique.
Organisée depuis 4 ans à Piantarella, cette rencontre a pour objectif d’inviter les meilleurs
planchistes de la discipline «freestyle» pour faire le show sur le lagon et promouvoir la discipline et le site de Bonifacio.
Sous les yeux du public et des photographes, les champions excellent dans un cadre de rêve.
D’année en année, la compétition évolue; les planchistes invités ont des palmarès de plus en
plus impressionnants. Le niveau technique augmente, les retombées médiatiques et la réputation de cette rencontre aussi.
Cette rencontre est aussi l’occasion d’animer le site pendant 5 jours avec des initiations au
stand up paddle, des ateliers photos avec des professionnels et surtout un stand «surfrider
foundation» qui sensibilise les spectateurs à l’environnement.
At the beginning the Freestyle Project should have been a EFPT contest but then it becomes an
underground freestyle competition.
The competition takes place in Corsica for 4 years now. The real point of it is inviting some of the
best windsurfer in freestyle to make the show on the lagoon and promoting the sport as the place
of Bonifacio. Threw the eyes of the public and photographers the champions are wonderfull in a
dream site...
Years after years the competition is moving forward and the guest are better and better so is the
show. As well the technical level is growing. The medias coverage increese and the reputation of
the event also.

L’édition 2012
fut l’occasion d’organiser un «windsurf Poker»
inventé pour l’occasion.
La compétition se déroulera sur un plan sportif et technique mais aussi sur le
plan de la video puisque les deux équipes compterons dans leur rang des cameramen et monteurs qui s’affronteront également sur la toile.
La partie animation sera concentrée sur le samedi 8 juin avec un nettoyage
de plage, des ateliers de sensibilisation à l’environnement, des initiations au
Stand Up Paddle et au windsurf, un show windsurf et les champions au contact
du public.

France against the rest of the world
A team competition where the best frenchmen will meet a selection of the best
worldwide champions on the nicest spot of South Corsica.

Some guest star are expected such as the Frans Brother (Bonnaire) and the 2011

The competition will take place not only on sportive and technical aspect but also

The local untertainment will take place on one day dedicated to the public meeting the champion : Saturday 8th of june there will be a beach cleaning with

suivi sur le net par plusieurs milliers de spectateurs en 2012.

During each elimination, the riders will judge each other to make it fair and simple. The format will be similar as the PWA, with the 3 best move from each tack counting ( no crash counted, no move limit ), so we will count a total of 6 moves.
-Every one will be sailing 2 different man on man heats, decided with a lucky draw.
-after this we will get the top 6 riders
-this top 6 will be splitted in 3 man on man heats after a lucky draw.

the video clips of his best 2 moves after everyday of sailing. In the end of the week each rider will choose his overall best 2 moves.
All those moves will be edited in a clip and posted online once the event is over.
People on internet will then choose one best move, and after counting the votes we will announce the winner for the best move of the event.
