The French organization
100 « départements » (= counties),
In each « département » management of the fire department,
In each town and village a fire brigade.
The fire fighters are permanently the last public service to
reach in case of emergency even when all other services are
closed (post, school….).
A national Executive Board at the French Interior Ministery
(police, fire fighters, airplanes and hélicopters, bomb disposal
experts) give direction to the national policy.

In each « département » a medical health department
