Mr. Hassard (Motion #162)
THAT this House urges the Government of Yukon to establish a tax credit for parents or
guardians of children involved in music, arts or tutoring.
2.
Ms. McLeod (Motion #163)
THAT this House urges the Government of Canada to ensure that Yukoners continue to have
access to CBC AM Radio and CBC TV by requiring the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation to:
(1) provide AM Radio service by relocating its Whitehorse tower and continuing to broadcast
CBC Radio One on the AM 570 band; and
(2) continue to transmit CBC TV in both English and French in Yukon.

GOVERNMENT MOTIONS

Hon. Mr. Cathers (Motion #25)
THAT this House urges the Yukon Government to support development of the agriculture
sector with actions including:

(1) working with farmers and industry associations including Yukon Agriculture
Association and the Grower’s of Organic Food Yukon to implement the Agriculture
Multi-Year Development Plan,
(2) developing a “Yukon-Grown Food Policy” aimed at significantly increasing the production
and use of locally-grown vegetables, meat and food products,
(3) supporting the development of agriculture infrastructure that improves food security,
facilitates access to market, and encourages local production of food,
(4) supporting the development of local markets for Yukon agriculture products through
measures including increasing the annual funding for the Fireweed Community Market;
and
(5) working with Yukon farmers to conduct agricultural research.

Hon. Mr. Dixon (Motion #119)
THAT this House urges the Government of Yukon to develop and implement a Yukon Water
Strategy that will help provide long-term direction for economically and environmentally
responsible development, management, and use of water in Yukon and establish principles to
guide future decision making.

THAT this House urges the Government of Yukon to move towards the creation of a Yukon
university by:
(1) exploring potential models for developing Yukon College into a northern university; and
(2) identifying which model is best suited for Yukoners’ needs.

Mr. Tredger (Motion #170)
THAT this House urges the Government of Yukon to fully implement methods of experiential
learning, including training of teachers, to augment learning in all classrooms and programs for
students, in order to:
(1) accommodate a variety of student learning styles and strengths,
(2) increase personal skills of active reflection, problem-solving, and independent thought,
(3) engage students actively in their learning; and
(4) improve the effectiveness of teaching all students.
