Olivier Berthe, Chairman of Les Restos du Cœur, and Damien Lacombe, Chairman of Sodiaal Union,
signed a multi-year partnership agreement governing the framework of milk donations made by
Sodiaal's milk producers to Les Restos du Cœur on 2 July 2015.
Sodiaal has implemented an online donation process allowing Sodiaal members to donate milk to
two associations, Les Restos du Coeur and the National Federation of Food Banks, for three years
now.
The principle is simple: the member declares how much milk they wish to donate on the producer
extranet. The milk is then collected by the cooperative and processed into consumer products,
according to the needs of the associations, and delivered.
This year, 755 producers donated over 3.7 million litres of milk which is the equivalent of 193 lorries
of semi-skimmed milk or over thirty million yoghurts.
"In-kind donations are a valuable resource for Les Restos du Cœur", said Olivier Berthe, Chairman of
the association. "Especially since our financial resources are stagnating while needs continue to
increase. We therefore need to find new sources of supply and in-kind contributions are needed
more than ever."
