Letter to student following AIPM internship
Dear student,
We hope that your internship has progressed well. At the end of the stage, the time has now
come to make a progress report.
We propose you to organise with your internship supervisor an interview in order to evaluate
how much you have applied your competencies to the work you have been thus far asked to
do. This interview will draw heavily on the rating tables that both your internship supervisor
and yourself will have filled out before the meeting.
Please find attached a copy of the letter that you can give to your internship supervisor to
explain the objectives and the procedure, as well as a rating table.
In order to have a wider view of your competencies, we would suggest that you also give a
copy of this table to those people who work with you during the course of the internship. This
will provide richer material with which to fill out your portfolio.
Under no circumstances will this table be used to assign a grade to a student. It is purely a tool
used to set up an interview with your internship supervisor and to encourage an exchange
based on the competencies you have so far used during your internship. If you want and after
discussion with your mentor, you can join this table in your internship report.

Letter for the internship supervisor
Ref : internship of your student
Dear Sir, Madam,
To allow our students to progress and to better define their professional aims, it is essential to
evaluate their competencies over the course of their internship. As internship supervisor, you
play a key role in this evaluation.
We suggest a two tier approach:
- The preparation of an evaluation interview: the internship supervisor and the student each
fill in an initial rating table concerning the competencies shown during the internship thus
far.
- Evaluation interview: during this interview, the internship supervisor and the student
exchange the points of views expressed in their initial rating tables. Thanks to this
exchange, the internship supervisor can then fill in the post-interview rating table which is
then handed to the student.
This final table will contribute to the student’s portfolio of competencies, a tool which
combines a wide variety of evaluations from academic and non-academic activities. This
allows a description of students’ evolution in terms of their personal competencies and
enables them to better define their academic and professional orientation. This table may be
used by the student during the oral competencies evaluation that takes place at the end of the
curriculum. However, under no circumstances will this table be used to assign a grade to a
student. It is purely a tool used to set up an interview with an internship supervisor and to
encourage an exchange based on the competencies thus far displayed during the internship.

5 the highest level (exceptional competencies)
3 the normal level of competencies expected

during an internship, but you will notice that certain competencies do not directly concern your internship.
 The observations section allows you to cite examples of an aptitude you have developed thanks to a
