NEWS FROM THE IASK BOARD It is Fall now on the northern part of our globe, Spring on the southern part. Whereever you are, we hope you are having a great time with yourself, your family, friends and colleagues and with Kinesiology. We want to keep you updated on information about • The work of the IASK Board • Conference and AGM in Barcelona • The 2009 conference. • Miscellaneous The work of the IASK Board The Board is still having conference calls on Skype, and we feel that as well our work and we ourselves profit a lot from this monthly communication. It is not always easy to have ALL boardmembers on line at the same time, but nevertheless we get a lot of work done that way. Conference and AGM in Barcelona, Spain. September 20. – 21. 2008 there was a conference in Barcelona, Spain on “Quantum Physics and Kinesiology”. Among other speakers and presenters you could find two of the IASK Boardmembers, Diego Vellam and Annemarie Goldschmidt. Both presentations were well applauded. On Saturday afternoon we had the Annual General Meeting, and you will find the minutes from the AGM in this Newsletter. The 2009 Conference. As you already know if you have read the latest information on this website, IASK will arrange the 2009 conference together with the Energy Kinesiology Association (EnKA) and the Touch for Health Organisation(TFHKA) in the US. The theme of this conference is KINESIOLOGY AROUND THE WORLD and it will take place in Washington, DC from July 17th through 20th 2009 at the HYATT Hotel. Two of the IASK board members, Ann McFerron and Annemarie Goldschmidt, have participated in the 2008 conference in Sacramento, California. We have participated in several meetings and conference calls with Marge Bowen and Kathie Guhl from EnKA about the details in the planning of the contents of this 2009 conference. Kathie Guhl from EnKA and Erica Williams, who is VP of Conferences for EnKA have agreed to be the communication officers between EnKA + IASK and the TFHKA, who has recently made arrangements with a proffessionel management company to help them reorganize their organisation and help with the conference arrangements. You will be able to find the information about registration for the 2009 conference on the IASK webpage shortly, or you can find it on at the EnKA website (www.energyk.org) or at www.tfhka.org There you will also find information about tuition, early bird-offers etc. Please keep in mind that you by joining IASK and paying 40 € can save part of the tuition. What a chance!! Miscellanous. Some good news. A group of researchers in Denmark, among which is your IASK president has received a grant of the equivalent of about 100.000 USD to do research in “The Kinesiological Body”. “An Anthropological Study of the Kinesiology Worldview analyzed through the body narratives” I am very happy to be a part of this research which started by October 1st 2009 and will be coming to an end in the Summer of 2009 On behalf of the IASK Board I wish you all the best for the time in which you are Annemarie Goldschmidt IASK President.
