Description du micro projet :
The population of Ntahsen and Fuwambi, two quarters of Bamenda town, had no easy acces into those quarters. Also
vehicles couldn't ply into aénd out of the quarters.
It's the reason why, BAAMCCIG planed and important project who was to construct a Bridge to link Ntahsen and
Fuwambi to other parts of Bamenda town. The project helped population to aim more other objectives which were the
improvment in sanitation as all solid wast will easily be drained away massively and the broast up quarter economic
activities.
Six thoussand people were cencerned by the project as beneficiairies. That population contributed of about 2.220.000
CFAF to the project including material contribution and labour in kind.
The requested finances from the donors were 7.000.000 CFAF and only 2.999.000 CFAF was given by the European
Union trought the Fourmi I Program for Urban development.
The identification of felt need projects with the community took place Between July 1998 and February 1999. The
planning, mobilisation of both financial and material resources was between october 1999 to december 1999.
Between this time funds for project attained its 100% contribution (july and august 2000). The execution proper took
place with the duration of 3 weeks between september 17th to september 30th 2000.
Some difficultes have been encountered during the planning and execution phase we can number the materials very
slow and difficult to be supplied because of its unavailability withim the local area.
COMMENTAIRES : The European Union throught its various development programs helps the entire population. Threw
basic infrastructures, its sustain to economic social and cultural initiatives. The institution plays and important role in the
fight against poverty in developing countries. Fourmi I threw which BAAMCCIG has realized this bridge is an example of
its role. The logic of partnership including fund donors, beneficiaries and other actor is highly appreciated.
