III. French Language and Francophonie Week, March 1422, 2015
The French Language and Francophonie Week will
take place from March 14 to March 22, 2015.
This
week offers to celebrate the French language through
a large amount of events organized everywhere in
France and abroad. In Jamaica, many activities will be
proposed.
On Friday, March 20, 2015, International Day of
Francophonie, schools will be invited by the Alliance
Française de la Jamaïque and the Embassy of France,
to present their literary and artistic creations in the
framework of the operation “Dis-moi dix mots” (Tell me
ten words). These ten words are chosen each year by
different francophone partners: France, Belgium,
Québec,
Switzerland,
and
the
International
Organization of Francophonie (which gathers 77 States
and Governments around the world). This year, the
topic is “Dis-moi dix mots que tu accueilles” (Tell me
ten words that you welcome). The words are:
amalgame, bravo, cibler, gris-gris, inuit, kermesse,
kitsch,
sérendipité,
wiki,
zénitude.
