Biography
Andréanne Sansoucy focuses her practice on construction law, including construction
hypothecs and construction bonds, issues relating to calls for bids, dispute prevention and
settlement during the project, as well as claims for delays, changes and additional costs.
Andréanne provides advice to clients with respect to the drafting and review of all types of
construction contracts, regardless of the contractual mode. She has also worked on an
important file for a major mining company relating to an EPCM contract for a plant
expansion.
Andréanne advises and assists her clients to ensure that they comply with the applicable law
and their duties, including with the Régie du bâtiment du Québec and the Commission de la
construction du Québec.
Prior to joining our firm, Andréanne practised in the area of litigation and dispute resolution
with a major player of the Quebec construction industry. She has also received a Master in
Business Law at the Faculty of Law of Université de Montréal. As part of her Master’s
degree, she completed the Master 2 Professional in the Business Law Comparative program
at the Faculty of Law of Université Lumière Lyon 2. Her master’s thesis won the Graduate
Studies Award in Scholarly writing from the Notarial Chair of the Université de Montréal. Her
thesis was also published by Wilson & Lafleur and is entitled La protection des créances des
sous-traitants dans le domaine de la construction.
Andréanne received her Bachelor of Law degree from Université de Montréal in 2007. She
also earned a diploma in Introduction to Chinese Law at the China University of Political
Science and Law in Beijing in 2006 and a diploma in European Integration at the Faculty of
Law of Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 in 2005.
Andréanne’s previous two-year professional experience as in-house counsel for a leader in
the construction industry in Quebec (2010-2011) gave her an understanding of the
challenges faced by our clients.
