Your Special Representative in Cyprus, Mr. Carlos
Bernardes, has delivered to me your letter of 26 March
1965, and the report [S/6253]
which the United
Nations Mediator on Cyprus, Mr. Galo Plaza, has
submitted to you in accordance with his terms of reference. The report will be considered with the utmost care
and within the spirit of the desire of the people of
Cyprus and myself for a peaceful and just solution to
the problem of Cyprus. I wish to express my deep appreciation for the valuable and sincere efforts of Mr. Plaza.
I am sure that his efforts will prove very constructive.
I take this opportunity to reaflirm my gratitude for
Your Excellency’s active and warm interest with regard
to the Cyprus problem.

to express on behalf of his Government its grateful
thanks to the Secretary-General for his active interest
in the problem of Cyprus.
