Met z’n tweëen ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
Ik, Ann Vanmarsenille, ben samen met mijn echtgenoot Wim Merckx het project ‘Flower Power’ gestart ten voordele van de Vlaamse Liga tegen Kanker (VLK), voor de provincie Vlaams-Brabant.*
De drijfveer hierachter, is ontstaan doordat mijn moeder, die nu 76 is, borstkanker heeft gehad en ikzelf daar het hele proces van diagnose tot nu heb bij 'doorlopen'. Tevens kom ik als therapeute
voor slechtzienden regelmatig in contact met kinderen met kanker. Ons doel is, meer geld te vergaren om te kunnen investeren in wetenschappelijk kankeronderzoek en zodoende de slaagkansen
tot genezing te verhogen. Zelf heb ik kunnen constateren hoe men bij mijn moeder, bij haar laatste zesmaandelijkse check-up, een bloedstaal nam om aan de hand van dit ‘geëvolueerde bloed’ te
werken aan dat wetenschappelijk onderzoek. Dus ik weet dat ons geld er daadwerkelijk naartoe gaat..
Het project ‘Flower Power’
Vrouwelijke politici worden gefotografeerd met als rode draad een bloem*, aan de hand van een interview wordt de foto ‘geïllustreerd’ met een korte tekst. Alle gegevens worden gebundeld in één
heel kwalitatief fotoboek**. Dit unieke boek zal dan tegen opbod worden geveild. Na het veilen van het boek zullen ook kleine exemplaren te koop worden aangeboden.

Bekendheid verwerven
Het is belangrijk voor ons het reeds gepresteerde werk te tonen* en zodoende mensen ‘warm’ te maken om ons (moreel, financieël) te steunen. We krijgen heel dankbare reacties van de (ex-) kankerpatiënten
De ‘openbare verkoop’ op 7 oktober 2011 in café ‘De Oude Smis’ te Neerwinden
We willen de veiling de ‘look’ meegeven van een echte openbare verkoop zoals die plaats heeft in het ‘plaatselijke café* met de notaris van dienst’. De locatie is gekozen om het kostenplaatje zo laag mogelijk te houden en dus zoveel mogelijk
van de opbrengst aan de VLK te kunnen schenken.

Moi, Ann Vanmarsenille, avec mon époux Wim Merckx avons démarré le projet ‘Flower Power’ au bénéfice de la “Vlaamse Liga tegen Kanker (VLK)” pour la province du Brabant flamand.
Le cancer du sein de ma mère, âgée maintenait de 76 ans, et le fait que j’ai vécu tout ce procès du diagnostic à aujourd’hui m’ont incité à prendre cette décision. Comme thérapeute pour malvoyants j’entre régulièrement en contact avec des enfants atteints
du cancer. Notre but est de collecter de l’argent afin de contribuer à la recherche scientifique et d’augmenter les chances de guérison. C’est ainsi que j’ai pu personnellement constater qu’on prélevait du sang chez ma mère (dernier contrôle bi semestriel) pour
faire des analyses scientifiques avec ‘ ce sang évolué’.On sait donc à quoi on dépense notre argent.
Le projet ‘Flower Power’
Des politiciennes sont photographiées avec une fleur*comme fil rouge. Dans une interview la photo sera accompagnée d’un petit texte explicatif. Toutes les données sont présentées dans un album photo de haute qualité**. Ce livre unique sera vendu aux
enchères. Après cette mise aux enchères l’album sera vendu sous un format plus petit.

Acquérir une renommée
Il est primordial de faire connaître notre travail et ainsi de motiver les gens à nous soutenir moralement et financièrement .La gratitude de (ex-)patients est d’ailleurs très grande.
Vente publique, le 7 octobre 2011 au café ‘De oude Smis’ à Neerwinden
Nous voulons présenter notre vente aux enchères comme une vraie vente publique façon café local* et avec notaire. Afin de garder les frais au plus bas et d’avoir le plus grand bénéfice nous avons choisi ce local à Neerwinden.

I, Ann Vanmarsenille, started together with my husband Wim Merckx, the Flower Power project for the benefit of the Flemish League against Cancer (VLK), for the Province of Flemish Brabant. *
The motive behind this is related to what happened to my mother, who is now 76. She has had breast cancer and together with her, I went through the whole process from diagnosis to the current situation very closely. Working as a therapist
for weak-sighted, I regularly come in contact with children with cancer. Our goal is to gather more money to invest in cancer research and thereby increasing the prospects of healing. I could see by myself, how the blood sample taken from my
mother during her last six-monthly check-up, was used for scientific research. So I know that our money is used for this investigation.
The Flower Power project
Female politicians are photographed with a flower*. The photograph is illustrated with a short text that is based on an interview. All data are combined in a high qualitative picture book **. This unique book will be sold by public auction. After
the auction of the book, also smaller copies will be offered for sale.

Gain name
It‘s important to us to show the work we already accomplished * and thus encourage people to (morally, financially) support us. We get very grateful reactions of the (ex-) cancer patients
The “auction” on October 7, 2011 in the cafe ‘De Oude Smis’ in Neerwinden
We want the auction to look like a real auction as taking place in the ‘local cafe * with the notary in duty. The location was chosen to keep the cost as low as possible and donate as much as possible to the VLK.
