Pour le Printemps / Eté 2013, Joe San présente une première collection
décontractée chic, subtil mélange entre un vestiaire «easy to wear» pour
un look de tous les jours, et une sélection de pièces fortes.
La collection de chemises (tissus 100% italiens) riche en motifs, se décline
en trois variantes chromatiques:
- Les pastels, issus de coloris vifs traités et délavés.
- Les bleus indigo, des teintes les plus claires au plus foncées, mixant les
imprimés exclusifs développés dans les mêmes tonalités.
- Une thématique «désert» mixant les bleus pétrole aux verts et beiges
passés.
For the Spring/Summer 2013, Joe San introduces a first casual chic
collection, a subtle blend between an «easy to wear» wardrobe for everyday
look and a selection of exceptional pieces.
The shirts collection (100% Italian fabric) rich in designs is divided in
three chromatic
variations of colours:
- The pastels, bright colours treated and washed-out.
- The blue indigo, from the lightest colours to the darkest, blending
exclusive prints made in the same shades.
- A «desert» theme blending the petrol blues to the vintage greens and
beiges.
UN VESTIAIRE COMPLET POUR HOMME ET POUR FEMME
La fleur Joe San, dans sa version multicolore, donne le ton de la collection.
Les voiles de coton et crêpes de soie apportent légèreté et volupté aux
imprimés colorés. Le motif tête de mort apparaît sur la soie et le coton. Pour
la femme, il se portera cette saison en top (chemise décontractée, T-shirt)
ou en robe en soie. Les coeurs sont déclinés sur des vestes et des chinos
en popeline légère. Tous les vêtements (débardeurs, robes, t-shirts, vestes,
chinos) sont teints en plongée et traités manuellement afin d'obtenir des
nuances de couleurs et un rendu unique.
L’incontournable chemise en jean se décline en différentes teintes d’indigo,
grâce aux délavages, du brut au bleach.
Parmi les pièces fortes, un imperméable, une veste lin, une chemise western
fleurie, ainsi qu’une petite veste structurée en denim léger. Un short
et un pantalon slim en cuir viennent compléter ce vestiaire très actuel.
Les pantalons ont été travaillés dans le même esprit transversal. Les
gabardines compactes, les cotons/lins très duités ou les 100% lin au
traitement plus rigide, ont tous subi des transformations pour donner au
final cet esprit «vécu» chic.
A COMPLETE WARDROBE FOR MEN AND WOMEN
Joe San flower in its multicolored version gives us a glance at the collection.
The cotton and silk veil bring lightness and voluptuous to the colored
prints. The skull motif appears on the silk and cotton. For women, it will
be worn this season’s as a top (casual shirt, T-shirt) or in silk dress. The
variety of heart motifs are on jackets and on light poplin chino pants. All
clothes (tank tops, dresses, shirts, jackets, chino pants) are top dyed and
treated manually in order to obtain shades of colors and a unique look.
The must-have denim shirt comes in various shades of indigo, thanks to
the washes, from raw to bleach. Among the strong pieces, a raincoat, a
linen jacket, a flowered western shirt, and also a small structured jacket in
a light denim. Shorts and slim pants in leather complete this very updated
wardrobe.
The pants were elaborated in the same transversal spirit. The compact
gabardines, very dense woven cotton linen or the 100% linen with a more
strong treatment, all went through transformations to finally give this
“lived” chic spirit.

thème développé. Les fils utilisés apportent aux jerseys une douceur

The T-shirts collection rich in exclusive prints fits into the brand’s colored
universe. The prints colors blend in with each developed theme. The yarn
used brings to the jerseys an extreme softness and the cold dyes process
enables to obtain colors in natural new shades.

LA FLEUR DE JOE SAN LIVRE SES SECRETS
Alors que depuis les années 1930 le bleu des denims est majoritairement
issu de teintures synthétiques, le bleu de la toile des jeans Joe San provient
d’une teinture naturelle obtenue à base du Persicaire à indigo du Japon,
symbolisé par la fleur du logo Joe San.
C'est par un processus long et complexe qui dure plus de cent jours que le
Persicaire du Japon livre ses précieuses molécules d'indigotine permettant
ensuite de colorer la fibre des toiles denim. Ce savoir-faire ancestral permet
d’obtenir au Japon un indigo exceptionnel à la teinte aubergine/bleu
unique.
Le jean Joe San est un vêtement qui vit, qui vieillit à merveille en laissant
apparaître au fil du temps des lignes blanches sur l’étoffe, comme des rides
sur un visage.
Chaque traitement, chaque délavage est travaillé pour offrir un rendu
authentique sans concession. Il en est de même pour certaines qualités de
gabardine japonaise que nous avons également travaillées en surteinture.
L’objectif est de mettre en évidence le savoir-faire nippon tout en conservant
une main européenne.
JOE SAN’S FLOWER RELEASES ITS SECRETS
While since the 1930s the blue in the denims results mainly from synthetic
dyes, the blue in Joe San’s jeans come from natural dye obtained by indigo
Persicaria from Japan, symbolized by Joe San’s flower logo.
It’s through a long and complex process that lasts more than one hundred
days which the Persicaria from Japan reveals its precious indigotine
molecules allowing afterward the coloring of the denim cloths fiber. This
ancestral know-how benefits to Japan an exceptional indigo in an eggplant
/ unique blue color.
Joe San’s jean is a garment that lives, that ages very well showing over
time white lines on the fabric, like wrinkles on a face.
Each treatment, each stone-washes is processed to provide an authentic
look without concession. It’s the same for some Japanese gabardine
qualities that go through cross-dyeing. The goal is to reveal the Japanese
know-how while maintaining a European touch.

POUR L’AMOUR DU JEAN
Dans le but de redonner ses lettres de noblesses au jean, et de revenir
aux origines de la fabrication des toiles originelles, nous avons pris le
parti élitiste de choisir des matières de très haute qualité pour obtenir,
après différents traitements et étapes successives, un produit totalement
exclusif.
Pour cette première collection, pas moins de douze modèles de jeans sont
proposés. Tous fabriqués à partir d’une sélection rigoureuse de toiles
japonaises «selvedge» (de 12 à 14 once par m2), produits dans le plus pur
respect de la tradition du jean authentique, nécessitant plusieurs heures
de travail manuel sur chaque pièce pour parvenir au rendu souhaité.
Le jacron en cuir naturel est patiné et brodé à la main, les coutures sont
renforcées, le sac de poches est garni de chambray teinté lui aussi à l’indigo
naturel, les boutonnières se terminent par un bouquet de fils multicolores
porte-bonheur qui signent la tendance de la saison.
Autres particularités, qui caractérisent la signature visuelle de la marque,
le repli du selvedge et la fleur brodée sur la poche arrière droite.
Enfin, le secret du toucher souple et confortable de la toile denim des jeans
Joe San, réside dans l’utilisation du coton du Zimbabwe et de ses longues
fibres soyeuses.
FOR THE LOVE OF JEAN
In order to give back its noble titles to jeans, and to come back to the
beginning of the originals clothes production, we have taken the elitist
party to choose exceptional qualities of fabrics in order to get, after different
treatments and successive steps, a totally exclusive product.
For this first collection, not less than twelve jeans styles are offered. All
made from a careful selection of “selvedge” Japanese clothes (12 to 14
ounces per sq m.), produced in the most faithful way to the authentic
jeans tradition, requiring several hours of manual work on each piece to
reach the wanted look.
The jacron label in natural leather is finished with patina and is hand
embroidered. The seams are strengthened; the pocket bags are made out of
chambray also stained in natural indigo, the buttonholes end by a bouquet
of multicolored yarns, used as Lucky Charms, that mark the season’s
tendency.
Other features that characterize the visual signature of the brand are the
folds of the selvedge and the flower embroidered on the right back pocket.
Finally, the Joe San’s denim fabric secret of the soft and pleasant touch lies
in the use of Zimbabwe’s cotton and its long silky fibers.

Le denim japonais selvedge (ou selvage)
Suite à l’explosion du marché du jean dans les années 1950 et de la
demande accrue de toile denim, les industriels américains ont remplacé
leurs machines originelles par du matériel permettant une plus grande
productivité, capable de produire des laizes de tissu de grande largeur.
Dans les années 1980, des fabricants japonais récupérèrent ces vieux
métiers à tisser, afin de perpétuer la tradition du denim vintage, produit à
partir de laizes étroites d’environ 75 cm de largeur, (soit deux fois moins
larges que les nouvelles laizes) et de réintroduire sur le marché des jeans
confectionnés dans l’esprit des jeans authentiques.
Les jeans fabriqués à partir de ces toiles japonaises à liseré (selvedge)
nécessitent plus de matière et sont donc plus longs et plus coûteux à
produire que les denims nouvelle génération.
Le denim issu de ces anciens métiers est identifiable par son liseré,
marquant les bords latéraux du tissu.Ce liseré symbolise l’excellence en
matière de jean, c’est la marque de fabrique du denim japonais vintage,
cher aux connaisseurs et aux puristes (il n’est visible que lorsque les
jeans sont retroussés).
The denim Japanese selvedge (or selvage)
Following the boom jean market in the 1950’s and to increased demand
for jeans, American manufacturers have replaced their old-style machines
by equipment allowing a greater productivity, capable to make fabric
widths wider. In the 1980’s, Japanese’s manufactures recuperate these
old weaving looms in order to perpetuate the vintage denim tradition,
which is made from narrow widths of about 75 cm wide, (that is two times
less wide as the new widths) and to reintroduce in the ready-made jeans
market the authentic spirit.

The Jeans made from the selvedge Japanese fabrics require more fabric, and
are longer and more expensive to produce than the new denim generation.

The denim from these ancient crafts is recognized by its selvage, showing
the side edges of the fabric. This selvage symbolizes excellence in denim;
it’s the Japanese denim vintage brand, appreciated by connoisseur’s and
purists (visible only when jeans are rolled up).
