PRIX SAIMA pour la création contemporaine arabe, SAIMA
Award for Arab contemporary creation
The Circle of Friends of The Arab World Institute (Paris, France) and her President Leïla
SHAHID, former Palestinian Ambassador, created the SAIMA AWARD.
This Award & its €5000 euros grant support young artists.
The SAIMA Award for Arab contemporary creation highlights emerging visual artists from the
Arab World.
v. The Price supports the production of an artwork (5000 euros).
v. The winner participates to an exhibition into the Arab World Institute
v. The awarded artwork enters the AWI museum’s collections
The Second edition of the ‘SAIMA Award for Arab contemporary creation’ will be organized in
conjunction with the exhibition ‘From Timbuktu to Zanzibar’, which will be inaugurated in April
2017 at the AWI. The theme of 2017 SAIMA Award is: Sahara, as circulation spaces
Deadline: 31st of December 2016.

La Société des Amis de l’IMA, en partenariat avec l’IMA lance la 2e Edition du PRIX SAIMA pour
la création contemporaine arabe !
Le PRIX a pour vocation de soutenir la jeune création issue du Monde Arabe.
i. Il est doté d’une bourse de création de 5000 euros.
i. L’œuvre de l’artiste lauréat sera présentée dans le cadre de l’exposition du printemps de
l’IMA : De Tombouctou à Zanzibar

Le thème de l’appel à candidature est Sahara, espaces de circulation. La date limite de rendu du
projet est fixée au 31 décembre 2016.
