forceasanMSE-OpandpostedtoCFBUplands,OttawainSept1984wherehewasemployedin
varioussectionsincludingVIP,SPV/RefuellingandCargo.
PromotedtoCplin1988MWOBuckinghamwaspostedto4CMBGHQ&SigsSqnLahrWest
Germany.SomeofthehighlightsofhistimeinEuropeweredrivingWWIIveteransinItaly,
beingamemberoftheinitialinstructorcadrefortheintroductionoftheHLVW,participatingin
theannualNijmegenmarchesandmeetinghisfuturewifeLeanne.
In1992withtheclosureofHQ&SigsSqn,MikewaspromotedtoMCplandpostedtoCFB
DownsviewinToronto.
In1995MikewaspostedtoCFBWainwrightAltawhereasidefromperforminginvariousMCpl
positionshewasabletoattainhisT/TandHwyCruiserqualificationsandalsogainhisAirBrake
Instructorticket.Afterfiveyearshedecidedthatthe“drycold”wasnotforhimandwasposted
in2000to2CMBGHQ&SigsSqn,Petawawa.
PromotedtoSgtin2003,Mikewaspostedto1CdnFdHospastheTnSgt.Afteranenjoyable
stayhewasagainpostedin2005toCFBGagetownwherehewasemployedinFdSpOps,
FinanceandastheTechSvcsOpsSgt.In2007MikewaspromotedtoWOandemployedasICFd
SpandasGPVWO.In2008,MikehadtheprivilegeofattendingthefirstCanadianMaster
Drivercoursewherehegraduatedastopcandidate.
In2010MikedeployedastheOpsWOfortheNSEonRoto9toAfghanistananduponhisreturn
toGagetownhewaspromotedtoMWOinApr2011andpostedtoCTCHQastheAITACTCHQ
G7TrgDesMasterDriver.
MikewillberetiringinHarveyNB,whereheplansonconcentratingonenjoyingthequietlife
whilesimultaneouslynotaggravatingLeannetoomuch.Hewouldliketotakethisopportunity
