Objectifs de l’action de Coopération transfrontalière :
The cross-border jobs description gives the opportunity to have a better information about the cross-border labor
market in the area of Saint-Louis (F), Basel (CH) and Lörrach (D) and then a better fluidity.

Six jobs are described with a cross-border dimension including an analysis and a comparison of working conditions, professional skills, education and diplomas and linguistic skills in the three countries.

Contribution (valeur ajoutée) de l’action au développement de la Région (trans)frontalière :

MEF and its Swiss and German partners (AWA, Arbeitsagentür von Lörrach) have already a good cooperation. They
constitute a network dealing with all the problems on the cross-border labor market in the area of Saint-Louis (F), Basel
(CH) and Lörrach (D). With the project of the cross-border jobs description, they cross a new step in the cross-border
cooperation. Indeed, with this action, they work in a new dimension: the information on professions. These descriptions
are really innovative as they inform cross-border job seekers on the differences between the three countries in the fields
of working conditions, educational and training systems, professional and linguistic skills. Although this is still a long way
to go, we will perhaps one day, achieve the harmonization of diplomas and qualifications at the European level.

The cross-border description gives a better information on the cross-border labor market and encourages professional
mobility. First, cross-border job seekers can improve their knowledge of the job opportunities and the skills required by
companies in the three countries. Job seeker can also consult the job offers using the German name of the profession
they choosed. It also has a direct link with skills adaptation. A cross-border job seeker can indeed see if he needs a specific national clearance to exercise a job in Switzerland or in Germany (for example the SUVA Certificate in Switzerland).
A cross-border job seeker can finally develop his linguistic skills (in German, in English) if he wants to work in these
countries. Finally, the cross-border description contributes to the cross-border labor market regulation.
