This learning object presents the situation of a student who is starting to use credit. You will see the pitfalls that she wishes to avoid and the advice she
receives to start off her adult life with a good financial outlook.
It is important to live according to our means in order to avoid a financial catastrophe in a more or less long term. Getting indebt during the first few
years of one’s professional life depends largely on a behaviour geared towards immediate satisfaction which mortgages the future quality of life. It is
one of the principal reasons why couples separate.
We will see buying on credit as a whole. A credit card is one of the hardest things to manage and the solution for credit difficulties is saving your money.
We will discuss these two subjects in more detail.

Saving you money regularly is a habit to acquire. We can see why and how to do it!
If you employer does not offer a retirement plan, it is very important that you accumulate your money during your working years so you can live
comfortably during retirement. Here is a chart of the sums of money that you will be able to cash in when you are 65 years old and this during a period
of 20 years (from 65 to 85). This will be according to the amounts you have saved and to the anticipated rate of return.
