TKE (Australia) Queensland Branch Secured Major Service and
Modernization Contracts
In January 2012, ThyssenKrupp Elevator (Australia) Queensland Branch secured a five-year maintenance
contract from Hilton Hotels Australia for the Cairns Hilton, where 6 units of 3rd party elevators had been
installed about 20 years ago. TKEA convinced the Cairns Hilton management with an impressive offer, an
insightful presentation and the inclusion of a comprehensive overhaul plan and program, which ensures that
the customer can get immediate and tangible benefits by selecting TKEA as the service provider. “The
Cairns Hilton is a local landmark and will surely assist in the growth of TKEA in the Cairns area,” said Mr.
Alan Younger (Manager, TKEA Queensland Branch).
In December 2011, the Queensland Branch secured its first full Destination Selection Control (DSC)
modernization project: 175 Eagle Street in Brisbane, from Charter Hall Ltd. The 7 conventional elevators will
be modernized with MC1 Regenerative controllers supplied by TKAW from Germany and up graded to a
complete DSC Group, including custom-designed pedestals and housings for the touch screen terminals at
landing lobbies.
In November 2011, the Queensland Branch had also won a contract from Remco Properties Pty. Ltd. for the
modernization and maintenance of 7 elevators in the Christie Centre office building located at Adelaide
Street, Brisbane. The old DC gearless machines are to be replaced with new energy-efficient TKE SC400 AC
gearless machines incorporating TCM MC1 Regenerative controllers, as well as new fixtures and finishes.
These modernization successes once again exemplify TKE’s rigorous commitment in providing customers
with ingenious and sustainable solutions to meet their changing vertical transportation requirements.
