Objectifs et méthodes Essai comparatif, randomisé, en ouvert, évaluant l'effet protecteur de la circoncision médicalisée par
rapport à un groupe contrôle de sujets non circoncis (circoncision différée) sur l'incidence de l'infection à
VIH dans une population d'hommes de 18 à 24 ans en Afrique du Sud.
Les objectifs secondaires sont l'effet de la circoncision sur l'incidence des infections par le virus de
l'herpès simplex de type 2 et la survenue d'ulcérations génitales.
