Among the most brilliant interpreters of his generation, Diego Fasolis adds to his versatility
and virtuosity a rigorous style which is highly appreciated by the public and by international
critics, who follow him through the most important concert series in Europe and the United
States or in the numerous radio, television and CD recordings (over 100 productions for
Decca, EMI-Virgin, Sony-BMG, Naïve, Arts, Naxos, Chandos, BBC, Amadeus, Claves,
Divox) which have been awarded the most prestigious prizes by the specialised press. Since
1986 he has worked at the Swiss Radio as a musician and conductor. Since 1983 he works as
a permanent conductor of the vocal Ensemble of the Swiss Radio Television. In 1998 he
started directing the baroque orchestra, named “I Barocchisti”, with historical instruments.
Diego Fasolis also cooperates as host conductor together with numerous major international orchestras, such as RIAS Chamber
Choir of Berlin, Concerto Koln, Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca, Concerto Palatino, Orchestra Sinfonica and Orchestra Barocca in
Seville, as well as with orchestras and theater’s choirs, such as: La Scala in Milan, the Rome Opera House, the Carlo Felice in
Genoa, the Arena in Verona, the Comunale in Bologne and several major Swiss orchestras.
Diego Fasolis studied organ with Eric Vollenwyder at the Conservatory and at the “Musikhochschule” of Zurich, piano with Jürg
von Vintschger, voice with Carol Smith and choral conducting with Klaus Knall, obtaining four excellent diplomas. In addition to
numerous master classes with internationally renowned artists, he studied organ and improvisation with soloist Gaston Litaize in
Paris, and early music performance technique with soloist Michael Radulescu in Cremona. He is holder of several prizes at
international level, such as the First Prize in Stresa, First Prize and scholarship from the “Migros-Göhner Foundation”, “Hegar
Prize” and finalist in the Geneva Competition. As an organist, Diego Fasolis has executed the complete works of Bach, Buxtehude,
Mozart, Mendelssohn, Franck and Liszt. Thanks to his outstanding vocal and instrumental knowledge, he is often invited as a guest
of musical organizations in the role of director, teacher and member of international juries.
He has performed with some of the greatest artists, among them we mention several concerts with Martha Argerich and a long and
fruitful collaboration with the mezzosoprano Cecilia Bartoli with whom he recorded several albums for Decca.
In 2011, Pope Benedict XVI has conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Sacred Music.

Diego Fasolis, ritenuto uno dei più interessanti interpreti della sua generazione, unisce alla
versatilità e al virtuosismo un rigore stilistico apprezzato dal pubblico e dalla critica
internazionali che lo seguono nei maggiori festival europei e americani e tramite registrazioni
radiofoniche, televisive e discografiche (più di 100 produzioni per Decca, EMI-Virgin, SonyBMG, Naïve, Arts, Naxos, Chandos, BBC, Amadeus, Claves, Divox) insignite dei più ambiti
riconoscimenti della stampa specializzata.
Dal 1986 collabora in seno alla RTSI quale musicista e direttore e dal 1993 è Maestro stabile dei complessi vocali e
strumentali della Radio Televisione Svizzera e dal 1998 de "I Barocchisti", orchestra barocca con strumenti antichi. Ha
rapporti di collaborazione come maestro ospite con complessi di primo piano internazionale tra i quali: RIAS
Kammerchor Berlin, Concerto Koln, Sonatori de la Gioiosa Marca, Concerto Palatino, Orchestra Sinfonica e Orchestra
Barocca di Siviglia, Orchestre e Cori dei Teatri: La Scala Milano, Opera di Roma, Carlo Felice di Genova, Arena di
Verona, Comunale di Bologna e le maggiori orchestre svizzere.
Ha studiato al Conservatorio e alla Musikhochschule di Zurigo organo con Eric Vollenwyder, pianoforte con Jürg von
Vintschger, canto con Carol Smith e direzione con Klaus Knall ottenendo quattro diplomi con distinzioni. Ha seguito
numerosi corsi con docenti di fama internazionale, lezioni di organo e improvvisazione a Parigi con Gaston Litaize e
corsi di prassi esecutiva antica con Michael Radulescu a Cremona. E` titolare di diversi premi e lauree internazionali:
Primo premio Stresa, Primo Premio e borsa di studio "Fondazione Migros-Göhner", "Hegar Preis", Finali del
Concorso di Ginevra. Come organista ha eseguito a più riprese le opere integrali di Bach, Buxtehude, Mozart,
Mendelssohn, Franck e Liszt. Per la sua conoscenza in campo vocale e strumentale è spesso ospite di associazioni
musicali quale direttore, docente e membro di giurie internazionali.
Ha collaborato con molti dei più prestigiosi solisti e cantanti della scena internazionale tra i quali spiccano una serie di
concerti con Martha Argherich e la lunga e fruttuosa collaborazione con il mezzosoprano Cecilia Bartoli con cui ha
inciso vari album per Decca.
Nel 2011 Papa Benedetto XVI gli ha conferito un Dottorato honoris causa per la Musica Sacra.

de style et d' interprétation. Il est très apprécié de la critique et du grand public
international qui le suivent lorsqu'il se produit dans les principaux festivals
européens et américains, ou grâce aux enregistrements radiophoniques, télévisuels
et discographiques (plus de 100 productions pour les labels Decca, EMI-Virgin,
Sony-BMG, Naïve, Arts, Naxos, Chandos, BBC, Amadeus, Claves, Divox) qui ont
reçu de nombreuses distinctions de la presse specialisée.
Depuis 1993, il est chef titulaire des ensembles vocaux et instrumentaux de la
RSI ; en 1998, il fonde « I Barocchisti », orchestre dédié au répertoire baroque sur instruments d' époque.
Il est chef invité d'un grand nombre d'ensembles: RIAS Kammerchor de Berlin, Concerto Koln, Sonatori de la Gioiosa
Marca, Concerto Palatino, Orchestre symphonique et Orchestre Baroque de Séville, Orchestres et Chceurs de La Scala
de Milan, de l'Opéra de Rome, du Carlo Felice de Gène, des Arènes de Vérone, du Comunale de Bologne, ainsi que les
meilleurs orchestres suisses.
Diego Fasolis a étudié à la Musikhochschule de Zurich, où il étudie l'orgue, le piano, le chant et la direction d'orchestre.
Il obtient quatre diplômes avec mentions spéciales. Il a suivi les master classes d'orgue et d'improvisation à Paris avec
Gaston Litaize et les cours d'interprétation de la musique ancienne avec Michael Radulescu à Crémone. Il reçoit
différents prix: Premier Prix Stresa, Premier Prix et bourse d'études «Migros-Gohner», « Hegar Preis », et a été finaliste
au concours de Genève.
En qualité d'organiste, il interprète plusieurs fois l'intégrale des oeuvres de Bach, Buxtehude, Mozart, Mendelssohn,
Franck et Liszt. Grâce à ses connaissances dans le domaine vocal et instrumental, il est souvent l'invité d'associations
musicales en qualité de chef, de professeur ou de membre de jurys internationaux.
Il collabore avec quelques solistes de renommée internationale et se lie tout particulièrement avec Martha Argherich ou
Cecilia Bartoli avec qui il a enregistré plusieurs album pour Decca.
