Loading and unloading of the vessel can be carried out by gantries equipped
with grab devices.
The grapple is hung from a truck which runs on a horizontal beam of the
gantry, made up of a foldaway boom (to release the clearance of the vessel
on berthing or at departure) and a section fixed to the base of the quay.
During the unloading procedure, the product is tipped onto transportation
bands which carry it to the stockpile on land.
Unloading can also be effected through gantries equipped with a bucket
wheel : the product is lifted by a bucket chain and tipped onto transportation
bands which take it to the stockpile.
