His encounter with this woman allows him to push aside his fear of open spaces and invites her to rendezvous in the countryside. But on the day that the lovers decide to leave everything behind them and live their newfound passion for each other, the young woman disappears. On his return to Paris, his time is shared between his love of his family —Christie, his wife and their daughter, Audrey —, and a police investigation into the disappearance. Paul is troubled and doesn't understand what is happening. He decides, therefore, to carry out his own enquiry which turns into more of a quest of his own existence. He finds himself back in his natal region, not far from the volcanos of Auvergne. DIRECTOR FILMOGRAPHY Pierre Vinour lives and works in Paris and on the Millevaches Highlands, France. He is a director, screenwriter and co-founder of Les Enragés film production company. Also musician, he directed experimental films in the 80’s and then went on to study the scriptwriting at the University of Paris I Sorbonne where he received a degree. For two years following, he worked on a thesis devoted to the economic role of the script. Beginning in 1985, and for the next 15 years, he taught writing at different institutions of higher learning and private and public schools including France’s famed film school La Fémis. Pierre Vinour’s films have attracted a lot of attention at various international film festivals. These films were broadcast both nationally and on the international market and some won prizes such as Millevaches[expérience], nominated at the French César for Best Short Film. Pierre Vinour is one of the new voices that count in French cinema today. With a background in music, experimental filmmaking and scriptwriting, Pierre has developed a refreshing, untamed vision of cinema. With his first feature film, Supernova [Experience #1] in competition at Fantasporto, Bifff, Pifan International Film Festivals… and his second one, Magma (Pusan Première in compétition in 2009), Pierre has crafted his own brand of fiction, one where he captures essential elements of nature interacting with man’s innermost depths. The samples of his work will testify of his sensitive, organic visual approach, in the service of clear, direct storytelling. Through helping a fellow student with his casting, he ventured into acting in the film, My Sweet Home by Filipos Tsitos . In 2001 this was to be the only German film competing in the Berlin Festival. Consequently, it received a lot of attention in the national Press. In 2004, the director Samir Nasr was to offer him his first role in Presumed Guilty, winner of the best film category in the Film Festival of San Francisco. His career took off in Germany in 2005 thanks to Schläfer, which was celebrated by the critics and considered as one of the pioneers of “The German New Wave”. It had been selected officially by the Cannes Festival in 2005 in the Un certain regard category, when Steven Spielberg decided to cast him in Munich as Ali Hassan Salameh the presumed brain behind Black September. That same year, he played in Fay Grim by Hal Hatley next to Jeff Goldblum. Then, he played in The Mob by Frédéric Schoedoerffer with Benoît Magimel. In 2006, he meets Jacques Maillot who offers him the part of José Lazaga in Blood Ties. That year, he was awarded the Prize for Best Promising actor in Germany thanks to Teresas Zimmer by Constanze Knoche. The comedy Cash by Eric Bernard follows, in which he plays next to Jean Reno et Jean Dujardin. He also appears in the second season of Engrenages on Canal+. In the last film by Ridley Scott, he is an ex spy next to Leonardo Dicaprio and Russell Crowe. In 1999, the award for the Best New Actress would really launch her career, and from then on she is kept busy with films and various projects.
