COULD DO BETTER
Public does not seem to care about the threshold and in practice it is only 0,9%
There are a lot more « sans OGM » products than actually labelled
Quality and regional products (Label Rouge, AOC, IGP) are not necessarily « sans OGM »
There is no centralized information on « sans OGM » products and labels and no recognizable
logo
Only 2 major stakeholders use the « sans OGM » label on a large scale:
Carrefour, for >300 ref of Qualité Carrefour, mainly pork and poultry products
Fermiers de Loué, from LDC group, for poultry and eggs (all production)

… But a lot of other products and brands, not all very known
Cooperl, 1st French pork cooperative, is 70% « sans OGM »
Fleury Michon has begun a labelled ham
Sèvre et Belle for cheese goat and butter

PERSPECTIVES / ISSUES
 Increase share of labeled products
bovine; milk
 Facilitate access to information for small stakeholders and provide advice
supplies; logistics
 End confusion between regional and other quality labels and « sans OGM »
 Promote alternatives to imported soybean
French and EU soybean; other leguminous
 Get involved in the discussion on a EU « sans OGM » labelling scheme
