UNIDO COOPERATION
Since 1968 UNIDO has completed a portfolio of 56 projects for a total amount of more than USD 7,700,000 in several areas including
the Private Sector Development, industrial competitiveness and trade, and agro-industry. 6 other projects are in progress for a total
allotment of USD 1,245,667 with main focus on the private sector development and the establishment of small hydro power stations.

IMPACT OF THE GLOBAL CRISIS (Mid 2009)
In 2009, GDP growth is expected to fall, as the global financial and economic crisis starts to adversely affect remittances, aid receipts
and inflows of foreign capital. Mali’s government, heavily dependent on aid inflows to support the budget, could face difficulties in
financing its budget deficit. Moreover Economic growth will slow down in 2009, largely because of a decline in export demand and low
cotton prices.
