New edition of Les RECREATRALES theatre
festival in Ouagadougou
For the last five editions, different artists, actors, scriptwriters, scientists, set designers and
technicians from various African countries have been invited to join RECREATRALES and
participate in a collective process of creating theatre and artworks. These collaborative productions,
which are created in the period of three months, focus on the interaction between participants who all
have their own expertise. In time, the RECREATRALES festival has resulted in 32 scripts, 28
executed plays, and has hosted 250 actors, 70 technicians and 30 educators. All projects will be
shown in their final form at La Plate-forme from 6 till 13 November 2010.
