guard at 11:30 am) or Trafalgar Square.
Check out the Portrait Gallery or V& A Museum on Cromwell Road, and enjoy tea at
Pelham Hotel’s Bar 15 (15 Cromwell Road, reservation?) afterward!
In the afternoon, choose to go to Soho for shopping on Carnaby Street. Dinner options

for 3:00pm game, buy tickets from Marylebone Station to White Hart Lane)! If you
can, head to Pubs in Islington neighborhood (Highbury and Islington Station) Draper’s

high-end/mall-like shopping, Rue du Four for shoes. Pick up picnic provisions for

Sunday 10/20: Arrive early. Most attractions are closed Monday, and we’re taking a
wine tour Tuesday—so we have to get most of the attractions in today! If we take our
bags, we can start at Accademia, like he suggests, and end at our Hostel. (In advance: get
reservations at Accademia and Uffizi—perhaps Tasso can make them for us?)
Start at the Accademia, to see Michelangelo’s David (Via Ricasoli, 60). Then, walk to
the Duomo. Walk down to the Baptistry, Walk toward the River and Via de Calzaiuoli.
Eat Gelato! Check out the Orsan Michele Church, statues, and walk onto the Central
Square (Piazza Della Signoria) and City Palace (Palazzo Vecchio). Finish at the Uffizi
Gallery—but realize the last tour leaves at 4:30.
Monday 10/21: Take it easy! Get some suggestions from the folks at Tasso.
Shopping in the Oltrarno is crafty and antique. Borgo San Jacopo is best street.
Sift among the olive oil, sacks of farro, baskets, and food safes at Morganti (3R Piazza
Santo Spirito.) On the other side of the river, shopping at markets near San Lorenzo,
Santa Croce, Ponte Vecchiom. More Ritzy shops along Via de Tournabuoni. Lunch: at
Giacosa (83R Via Tornabuoni). Via della Voga Nuovo, Via Strozzi.

Thursday, 10/24: Book online tickets to Colosseum and Vatican in advance. Start with
the Colosseum and the Roman forum. From there, it’s an easy loop to visit the Trevi
Fountain, the Spanish Steps, and Piazza Navona. Take a lunch break (there are plenty
of outdoor cafes to choose from in Piazza Navona), then grab a bus or cab to Vatican
City, where you can visit the Vatican museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica.
End your day as the Romans do — with a glass of wine and dinner alfresco!
