THE WORLD TEXTILES MARKET FOR TECHNICAL Technical textile is one of the promising sectors for the textiles and clothing industry. Its development is very significant, with a market share rising from 85 billion Euros in 2005 to 100 billion Euros in 2010. It is estimated that it will reach 126 billion Euros in 2012. Technical textiles are often integrated with other materials and used for their performance (mechanical, thermal, electrical, sustainability ...) in almost all industrial sectors, particularly the automotive & aeronautics, electronics, medical & paramedical material civil engineering, , safety clothing, etc. Technical textiles are integrated in the manufacture of reinforced tires, airbags, filters, fire resistant materials, clothing manufacture high-end sports and safety clothing (temperature regulators bacteriostatic ...). MAIN PRODUCERS AND CONSUMERS: •Europe and the United States remain the leading manufacturers and consumers of technical textiles, •Asian countries like China and India established themselves as production centers of technical textiles (estimated growth of 14% in 2012, due to the evolution of car production, manufacturing output , the growing construction and the urbanization of the population). •Russia is also an important market where consumption of technical textiles has been continuously growing for several years. Technical textile has a promissing future development in Tunisia. There are currently 120 companies that manufacture products based on textile for technical use. 43 operating in the branch PROTECH (protection and safety), 22 in the sector of furniture and flooring (HOMETECH) and 12 in automotive components (MOBILITECH). According to the Technical Center for Textiles CETTEX, the average annual consumption of such textiles is increasing, reaching a volume of 20 million tons in 2012 against 14 million tons in 2005.
