Een nieuwe techniek: de Boomglijder
A new tool: the Canopy Glider
L’Arboglisseur a été conçu pour des vols brefs entrecoupés de courtes
périodes d'arrêt. Il est particulièrement adapté à la récolte d'échantillons botaniques et zoologiques en des endroits autrement difficiles à
atteindre. L'Arboglisseur peut accueillir trois personnes à bord. Il s'appuie sur une structure "Rozière" (combinaison entre un dirigeable à
air chaud et un ballon à l'hélium) et est propulsé par un petit moteur.
Pro-Natura International (PNI), une ONG qui s'occupe de développement
durable (www.pronatura.org) prévoit plusieurs expéditions scientifiques
avec ce ballon dans un futur proche.
The Canopy-Glider has been designed for brief flights with short intervening stops. It is particularly appropriate for the collection of botanical and zoological samples, in places that are otherwise difficult to reach.
The Canopy-Glider carries three persons. It relies on a “Rozière” structure (combination of a hot air dirigible and a helium balloon) and is propelled by a small engine. Pro-Natura International (PNI), a sustainable
development NGO (www.pronatura.org), is planning several scientific expeditions in the near future with
this balloon.

De Boomglijder werd ontworpen voor korte vluchten met kortstondige
haltes, en kan drie personen dragen. De techniek is vooral geschikt voor
het verzamelen van stalen op plaatsen die anders moeilijk te bereiken zijn.
De Boomglijder volgt een ‘Rozière’ - structuur (een combinatie van een
heteluchtzeppelin en een heliumballon) en wordt voortgestuwd door een
kleine motor. In de nabije toekomst plant Pro-Natura International (PNI),
een NGO voor duurzame ontwikkeling (www.pronatura.org), verschillende
wetenschappelijke expedities met deze ballon.
