4.2 Monitor Den Monitor an die Buchse MONITOR OUT (13) anschließen. COM port of a computer) 2 Safety Notes This unit corresponds to the directive for electromagnetic compatibility 89/336/EEC. ● The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it against humidity and heat (admissible ambient temperature range 0 – 40 °C). ● Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the unit, e. g. a drinking glass. ● For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use chemicals or water. ● No liability for any damage will be accepted if the unit is used for other purposes than originally intended, if it is not correctly operated or not repaired in an expert way. ● If the unit is to be put out of operation definitively, take it to a local recycling plant for a disposal which is not harmful to the environment. 3 Applications The video quad processors TVSP-46 (black-andwhite) and TVSP-46COL (colour) are designed for applications in video surveillance systems. The units allow display of up to four camera pictures (B/W in EIA or CCIR standard or colour in PAL or NTSC standard), individually or as quad picture (quadrant display), and simultaneous recording with a video recorder. The TVSP-46 displays the quadrants in black and white only. During reproduction of the recording it is possible to display a quadrant enlarged to frame. During reproduction of a quad picture by the TVSP-46 or TVSP46COL, it is also possible to record the current four camera signals with another video recorder. The video processors are provided with various alarm functions. The picture shows an incoming alarm via the alarm connections or the loss of a video signal in case of failure of a camera. In addition, it is possible to indicate the incident by an acoustic signal. A relay with normally open contact allows further processing of an alarm with an external unit. All incidents are recorded and can be viewed via the setting menu. The units are provided with a real time clock which continues to run even after power failure. 4 Connecting the Unit GB 4.1 Cameras Connect up to four cameras to the input jacks VIDEO INPUT 1 to 4 (11). 4.2 Monitor Connect the monitor to the jack MONITOR OUT (13). 4.3 Video recorder To record the camera pictures as quad picture, connect the video input of the video recorder to the jack QUAD OUT (14). To reproduce the recording, connect the video output of the video recorder to the jack VCR IN (12). 4.4 Alarm connections External alarm devices, e. g. sensors such as motion detectors, can be connected to the alarm inputs ALARM IN 1 to 4 of the jack ALARM (15), pin configuration see fig. 3. In this case, an open input is read as high level; an input connected to GND as low level. The level to trigger an alarm can be selected in the setting menu (see chapter 5.2.8). A floating alarm output (relay) is available as normally open contact between the connections EXT. ALARM N.O. (pin 5) and EXT. ALARM COM (pin 4). This output allows e. g. connection of the alarm input of a video recorder which, in case of alarm, switches from time lapse recording to real time recording. 4.5 Remote control For remote control of the video processor via an RS-232 interface (e. g. COM port of a computer in combination with a terminal programme), connect the controlling unit to the terminals TX, RX, and GND of the jack ALARM (15). Fig. 3 shows the pin configuration and examples with a 25-pole or 9-pole COM port. 4.6 Power supply After connecting all other units, connect a power supply unit 12 V /1 A to the jack DC IN (10), e. g. MONACOR PSS-1206 or PS-1204ST. A low voltage plug 5.5/2.1 mm (outside/inside diameter) is required. Observe the correct polarity: the inner contact must be positive. 13 GB 5 Operation Important! To allow automatic adjustment of the unit to the video standard of the first video input, the signal must be available there before the unit is supplied with power. After connecting the unit to the power supply, a short acoustic signal sounds. After approx. 2 s, the processor displays the quad picture of the operating mode “Normal”. During initial operation, the preprogrammed basic settings made in the factory are effective (see table “Presettings” in chapter 5.2.12). To change the settings of the unit, please read chapter 5.2 “Changing the settings of the unit”. 5.1 Operating modes 5.1.1 Normal The operating mode “Normal” is preset as soon as the unit is connected to the power supply. The cameras connected to the unit are displayed as quad picture (display of quadrants). The LED at the QUAD button lights up. If there is a camera input without a camera connected, the assigned quadrant is dark and the symbol is inserted in this quadrant. In addition, the LED above the corresponding frame button 1 to 4 flashes if no video signal is available at the video input. By presssing one of the buttons “1” ( ) to “4” ( ), the unit switches to frame display of the corresponding camera. Note: Operation of the unit in the operating mode “Normal” does not affect video recording. Independent of the selected monitor display, the signal at the connection QUAD OUT (14) is always a quad picture. 5.1.2 Automatic (AUTO) This operating mode is selected by pressing the AUTO button (7) and starts the automatic sequential switching according to the picture sequence and dwell time selected in the settings of the unit. Detailed information concerning sequence settings can be found in chapters 5.2.3 and 5.2.7. The LED above the AUTO button lights up together with the respective LED for the camera picture currently displayed. Camera inputs without valid video signal are automatically skipped during reproduction of the selected sequential switching. 5.1.3 Still picture (FREEZE) This operating mode is selected by pressing the button VCR PLAY/FREEZE (8). The LED above the button lights up. Still pictures are only possible in the quad mode, therefore the unit automatically changes to the display of quadrants when this operating mode is called. Via the buttons 1 to 4, the display of the quadrants can be “frozen” as still picture. During the still picture, the LED above the corresponding button lights up. As long as the still picture is displayed, the symbol “Z” in its quadrant keeps flashing. By repeated actuation of this button, the picture is “unfrozen”, i. e. the current camera picture is displayed again. By actuating 14 the button VCR PLAY/FREEZE (8) once again, the unit returns to the operating mode “Normal” with the selected display of the quadrants. 5.1.4 Reproduction (VCR PLAY) When pressing the button VCR PLAY/FREEZE (8) for a long time (> 2 s), the video processor is switched to the reproduction mode. In this operating mode, the LED above the button flashes. Pictures can be displayed which are just being recorded or reproduced by the video recorder. If one of the buttons 1 to 4 is pressed, the corresponding quadrant is enlarged to frame. Thus, individual quadrants can be viewed more precisely during reproduction of a quadrant display. The LED above the corresponding button lights up. When pressing the button QUAD (6), the whole picture is displayed. To quit this operating mode, press the button VCR PLAY/FREEZE (8) once again. The unit then returns to the operating mode “Normal” with the selected display of the quadrants. 5.2 Changing the settings of the unit To match the video processor to the corresponding surveillance system in an optimum way, it is possible to change many operating parameters. All settings are made via OSD menu. To call this menu, press the button MENU (5). The LED above the button lights up. If the unit is in the operating mode “Reproduction” or “Still picture”, it is necessary to return first to the operating mode “Normal” by pressing the button VCR PLAY/FREEZE (8). The following buttons are required for operating the setting menu: (1) and (2) cursor keys for selecting the menu item ENTER (8) confirmation of the selection (3) and (4) cursor keys for selecting the parameter to be changed or for choosing between two alternatives. The selected parameter or the alternative is emphasized by flashing. + (6) and – (7) increase or decrease of the selected parameter value MENU/EXIT (5) return to the menu page or quitting of the setting menu The buttons required for adjustments in the menu and their current function are displayed in each case in the bottom line of the screen insertion. Besides, during the menu setting, the LEDs above the buttons indicate which buttons can be pressed. All changes made in the setting menu are kept in a non-volatile storage, i. e. they are preserved even in case of power failure. Quit the setting menu by pressing the button MENU/ EXIT (5) [repeatedly, if necessary]. While the setting menu is adjusted, the video processor will ignore any alarm incidents occurring. Thus, the unit will automatically return to the normal mode as soon as no button has been pressed for approx. 15 s during the adjustments made in the menu. With the button MENU (5), the following setting menu is inserted: (MENU) ALARM DURATION : 02 SEC BAUD RATE : 1200 BPS DWELL TIME : 03 SEC INT AUDIBLE ALARM : ON OFF EXT AUDIBLE ALARM : ON OFF SET TIME : 02y : 02m : 05d : 11h : 12m : 13s DWELL SETUP (CH 01) : ON OFF ALARM POLARITY (CH 01) : HIGH LOW OFF CAMERA TITLE SETUP (CH 01) : ABCDEFGHIJ EVENT LIST VIDEO SET SYSTEM RESET :SEL.ENTER : VERIFY CHOICE.MENU : EXIT The currently selected menu item is indicated by the arrow on the left margin. 5.2.8). Un’uscita d’allarme senza potenziale (relè) è disponibile come contatto NA fra i contatti EXT. ALARM N.O. (pin 5) e EXT. ALARM COM (pin 4). 27 I 5 Funzionamento Importante! Met de toets MENU (5) wordt volgend instelmenu ingevoegd: (MENU) ALARM DURATION : 02 SEC BAUD RATE : 1200 BPS DWELL TIME : 03 SEC INT AUDIBLE ALARM : ON OFF EXT AUDIBLE ALARM : ON OFF SET TIME : 02y : 02m : 05d : 11h : 12m : 13s DWELL SETUP (CH 01) : ON OFF ALARM POLARITY (CH 01) : HIGH LOW OFF CAMERA TITLE SETUP (CH 01) : ABCDEFGHIJ EVENT LIST VIDEO SET SYSTEM RESET :SEL.ENTER : VERIFY CHOICE.MENU : EXIT Het momenteel geselecteerde menu-item wordt door de pijl in de linker marge aangeduid.
