The invention describes the role of 5-HT4 receptors.
The inventors have performed tests in mice and have shown that inactivation of the 5-HT4
receptors helps to a decrease sensitivity to stress-induced anorexia.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
5-HT4 receptor antagonists could be used to treat Anorexia and decrease sensitivity to
drug abuse. Moreover, 5-HT4 receptor agonists could be used to treat bulimia and
hyperphagia.
