Die Republik Acconci an der Mur lädt alle Menschen in Städten ein, die etwa gleich groß
sind wie Graz, ein Erinnerungsvideo von einem geliebten oder gehassten Menschen, den
die Welt nicht vergessen sollte, zu schicken.
Es wird ein riesiges Videodenkmal von Verstorbenen aus ganz Europa im
Homevideoformat entstehen.. Die Republik Acconci nimmt sich die Freiheit, Menschen
abseits des Medien-Mainstreams ins kollektive Gedächtnis zu rufen. Man wird erstaunt
sein.

Die eingesendeten Beiträge werden als permanentes Memorial auf der Insel gezeigt. das
allerschönste Video erhält einen Preis: ein Wochenende im Hotel Mariahilf in Graz.

Teilnahmeberechtigt sind Einwohner von europäischen Städten, die so groß wie Graz sind.

Ein Projekt des Grazer Theater im Bahnhof.
10 Tage im Auftrag von GRAZ2003- in denen zeitgenössische Theater– und
Performancegruppen und viele Grazer Bürger das Provinzielle über den Begriff der
indiviuellen und k o l l e k t i v e n S i c h e r h e i t bearbeiten. Das Ganze ist Permanenztheater.

The republic of Acconci on the river Mur invites all the people living in cities of about the
same size as Graz to send a memorial video of a beloved or hatred person whom the world
ought not to forget.
A huge video memorial of all the deceased people from all over Europe will come into being
in the size of a home-video. The republic of Acconci takes the liberty to call people, aside of
the media-mainstream, back to the collective memory. Everybody will be amazed.

The contributions sent in will be shown as a permanent memorial on the island. The most
beautiful video will receive a prize: A weekend at the hotel Mariahilf in Graz.
the four second most beautiful videos will also receive a prize.
Entitled to participate are the inhabitants of European cities of the same size as Graz.
The deadline for contributions is 15th of June 2003.

Entering our territory you are travelling into a provincial atmosphere and you are learning
things which may get you to the brink of your personal calm. Do not be afraid, you are always
safe. Safety is a fundamental need. Acconci on the river Mur satisfies it in an artistic way.

A project of the Graz Theater im Bahnhof
10 days by order of GRAZ2003 in which contemporary theatre- and performance-groups and
many citizens of Graz will work on provincialism through the concept of individual and
collective safety. The whole project is a permanent theatre.
--- 10.01.2003 : La ville de Graz reçoit une île au milieu du Mur, bien que`elle n`est pas
placée sur la mer.
--- 03.07. – 13.07. 2003 : L´ île est occupée, « Acconci an der Mur » se nomme la ville
principale de la province 2003. Sécurité interne de la province.

La République “Acconci an der Mur” invite tout les humains des villes qui sont plus ou moins
grande comme Graz, á envoyer une vidéo souvenir d ´une personne qu ´on aime ou qu´on
aime pas, laquelle le monde ne devait jamais oublié.
Le résultat sera une énorme vidéo monumentale de morts de l´Europe en entier dans le format
de Homevideo.
Le République Acconci se sent libre d ´appeler les humains á l ´écart du media – mainstream
dans la mémoire collective. Ça va être étonnant.

Tout les habitants des villes de l ´Europe, qui sont de même grande comme Graz,
peuvent prendre part á cette compétition.
