Steve Rehse received his Ph.D. in AMO physics from Colorado State University (Fort Collins, Colorado) in 2002. He
spent three years as a post-doctoral fellow and then a research scientist at the University of Western Ontario (now
Western University) in London, Ontario working with Richard Holt and David Rosner. He was an assistant professor of
physics at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan from 2005 to 2011 before accepting a faculty position within the
University of Windsor’s Department of Physics in May of 2011. He was promoted to associate professor with tenure in
2014. Steve has been a member of CAP since joining the University of Windsor in 2011 and has served one term (20132015) as Regional Councillor for Ontario-Southwest. He is also a member of the American Physical Society, the Optical
Society of America, and the Society for Applied Spectroscopy, where he has served on the Constitution and By-laws
Committee. He is a founding member of the North American Society for Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy and has
organized/presided over several conference sessions at international conferences on that subject.

Steve Rehse reçoit un doctorat en physique atomique, moléculaire et optique (AMO) de l’Université d’État de Fort Collins
(Colorado) en 2002. Il passera trois ans à London, Ontario, comme boursier de recherches postdoctorales puis chercheur
à l’Université Western (autrefois Université of Western Ontario), œuvrant avec Richard Holt et David Rosner. M. Rehse
est professeur adjoint de physique de 2005 à 2011 à l’Université de Detroit (Université d’État Wayne), Michigan, après
quoi il accepte un poste de professeur au Département de physique de l’Université de Windsor en mai 2011. Il est promu
professeur agrégé pour l’année 2014. Il est membre de l’ACP depuis son arrivée à l’Université de Windsor où il remplit le
mandat (2013-2015) de conseiller régional, Ontario Sud et Ouest. Il est aussi membre de l’American Physical Society, de
l’Optical Society of America et de la Society for Applied Spectroscopy, où il siège au Comité de la constitution et des
règlements. M. Rehse est membre fondateur de la North American Society for Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy,
ce qui l’amènera à organiser/présider plusieurs séances lors de conférences internationales sur le sujet.
