The Tooth

Description
Created for the St Martin's Lane hotel in London in 1999 by Philippe Starck, the Tooth stool
is valuable with 3 finishes. Tooth has been often quoted as the perfect example of
biomorphic design. Its unconventional shape also creates many manufacturing challenges
that, as often the case at xO, have been solved through the adaptation of technologies borrowed
from the automotive industry.
Créé pour l’hôtel St Martin's Lane à Londres en 1999 par Philippe Starck, le tabouret Tooth existe
avec 3 finitions. Tooth a souvent été cité comme l'exemple parfait du design biomorphique.
Mais sa forme non conventionnelle crée aussi de nombreux challenges de fabrication, résolus
cette fois-ci encore grâce à l'adaptation de certaines percées technologiques de l'industrie automobile.
