DT300 PRE-PROGRAMMED MEAT | POULTRY THERMOMETER INSTRUCTION MANUAL Colour Bar Indicator Alert Icon Current Measured Temperature Programmed Temperature Power ON/OFF Alert ON/OFF Memory °F/°C Switch Taste/Alert (-) This Pre-programmed Meat and Poultry Thermometer is the easiest cooking thermometer you will ever use, as it has an easy to read colour bar indicator. Simply select the type of meat you are preparing and the taste level (rare, medium, etc.). Insert the probe into the meat and place the meat into a preheated oven. An alarm will sound when your meat is done. The Pre-programmed Meat and Poultry Thermometer also has a superior and durable stainless steel probe with silicone-coated wire that is easy to clean. The thermometer has been pre-programmed with ideal temperatures for the taste levels for most types of meat. INSTALLING THE BATTERY Meat/Alert (+) Open the battery door at the back of the unit. Insert one “AAA” battery (included), by following the (+) and (-) polarity signs as indicated. B. POWER ON/OFF Press the POWER button to turn the unit on or off. C. MEAT SELECTION To select the kind of meat you want to cook, press the MEAT button. The LCD screen displays the type of meat the thermometer is ready to measure for you. Each press will change the display in the following sequence: BEEF / PORK / CHICK (Chicken) / TURKY (Turkey) / VEAL / LAMB / HAM / DUCK / RIBS / Ground BEEF / Ground PORK / Ground CHICK (Chicken) / Ground TURKY (Turkey) / Ground VEAL / Ground LAMB / PGM and back to BEEF to repeat the same sequence. NOTE: PGM-Programmable alert temperature for user’s custom set temperatures, for example, fish. The preset alarm temperature is 158°F (70°C). You can alter the preset alarm temperature according to your own taste and preference. [Refer to Section G for detailed operation.] D. TASTE SELECTION To select the taste level of the meat you want to cook, press the TASTE button. The colour bar indicator shows different taste options: RARE / M. RARE / MEDIUM / W. DONE The corresponding preset alarm temperature will show on the lower left of the LCD. E. THERMOMETER PLACEMENT Insert the tip of the probe into the center of the thickest part of the meat. Avoid touching bone, fat or gristle. Place the long stainless steel probe into the meat in the oven and feed the siliconecoated wire through the side of the oven door to the outside monitor. Never place the monitor in the oven. You may use the magnets on the back of the unit to attach the monitor to the outside of your oven. When the temperature of the probe is over 212°F (100°C), the unit will display “Hi”. When the temperature of the probe is under 32°F (0°C), the unit will display “Lo”. The next time you choose the meat taste level, the new preset alarm temperature will be shown (as the PGM setting). H. SELECTING °C OR °F Slide the °C or °F switch at the side of the unit to choose your desired temperature readout. I. DISPLAY AND BUTTON FUNCTIONS TASTE INDICATOR ALERT TEMP F. ALARM FUNCTION ALERT ON/OFF Slide the alert switch to ON to activate function. Programmed alarm alerts you in 3 different stages: 1. Pre-Alert Alarm sounds when your food is 10 degrees °C / °F under the desired temperature. Alarm will beep once every 5 seconds and the Pre-Alert icon will blink. 2. Alert Alarm sounds when the desired temperature is reached. Alarm will sound 4 short beeps consecutively and the Alert icon will blink. 3. Overcook Alarm will beep continuously and the overcooked icon will blink when your food is 10 degrees °C / °F over the desired temperature. • To stop the alarm temporarily, press the ALARM STOP button. • To stop the alarm completely, slide the ALERT switch to the OFF position. G. CHANGING ALERT TEMPERATURES (MEMORY FUNCTION) You can alter the preset alarm temperature of different meat and taste level according to your own taste and preference. Press and hold the MEMORY button for 2 seconds, the ALERT TEMP on the lower left LCD blinks. Press (+) or (-) button to increase or decrease the preset temperature. Then press the MEMORY button to store. MEMORY +/MEAT TYPE MEAT INDICATOR COOKING TEMP POWER ON/OFF TASTE STOP Displays specific taste selected. Displays the pre-programmed “target” temperature. Turns the alert sign on or off and sounds when the pre-programmed temperature is reached. Sets alert temperature. Select pre-programmed cooking temperatures for meat type, as listed in Section C. Displays type of meat selected for cooking. Displays internal meat temperature from probe tip. Turns the unit on or off. Select from RARE, M.RARE, MEDIUM, W. DONE Stops the alarm temporarily. switch is in the ON position and the plug from the probe is securely inserted into the side of the thermometer. • DO NOT place the thermometer’s display in direct sunlight, or let it come in contact with moisture or hot surfaces. • DO NOT USE THE PRE-PROGRAMMED MEAT & POULTRY THERMOMETER IN A MICROWAVE OVEN. • This probe is for measuring the temperature of meat and poultry. For measuring oven temperature, we recommend the BIOS Professional DT160. • DO NOT submerse the probe in water. Moisture inside the probe’s plug or the thermometer might cause an incorrect temperature reading. Always wipe the probe’s plug dry before plugging it into the thermometer. •DO NOT expose probe or probe wire to open flames of barbeque. Doing so can deteriorate the probe. ONE YEAR WARRANTY If this product proves to be defective in material or workmanship within one year of purchase, please return it to the address below. It will be repaired or replaced without charge upon receipt of the unit prepaid with $5.00 to cover handling, packaging and return postage. MISE EN PLACE DE LA PILE DINDE POULET CANARD Ouvrez la porte du compartiment de la pile à l’arrière de l’instrument. Insérez une pile “AAA” (incluse) en respectant les signes (+) ou (-) de polarité. B. INTERRUPTEUR MARCHE-ARRÊT (ON/OFF) Appuyez sur le bouton “ALIMENTATION (ON)” pour mettre en marche ou fermer l’instrument. C. SÉLECTEUR DE VIANDES Pour choisir la sorte de viandes que vous voulez cuisiner, appuyez sur le bouton “VIANDE (MEAT)” et le haut de l’écran ACL affichera la sorte de viandes dont le thermomètre mesurera la température de cuisson. Chaque pression du doigt change l’affichage au haut de l’écran dans la séquence suivante : BOEUF/PORC/POULET/DINDE/VEAU/AGNEAU/JAMBON/CANARD/CÔTES DE VIANDES/BŒUF haché/PORC haché/POULET haché/DINDE hachée/VEAU haché/ AGNEAU haché/”PMG” puis de retour à BOEUF afin de répéter la même séquence. NOTE: ”PMG” Température de déclenchement d’alarme programmable pour les températures réglées par habitude par l’utilisateur, par exemple, poisson. La température de déclenchement d’alarme est préréglée à 158 °F (70 °C). Vous pouvez changer la température de déclenchement d’alarme préréglée d’après vos propres goûts et préférences. (Référez-vous à la section G pour le mode opérationnel détaillé). D. SÉLECTEUR DE GOÛT Pour choisir la cuisson des viandes, appuyez sur le bouton “GOÛT (TASTE)”. L’indicateur en couleurs situé dans la partie supérieure de l’écran ACL affiche différentes options de cuissons. SAIGNANT, MI-SAIGNANT À POINT, BIEN CUIT La température de déclenchement d’alarme préréglée s’affichera au coin inférieur gauche de l’écran ACL. E. MISE EN PLACE DU THERMOMÈTRE Insérez la pointe de la sonde au centre de la partie la plus épaisse de la viande. Évitez que la sonde touche os, gras ou nerfs. Insérez la longue sonde métallique en acier inoxydable dans la viande, puis déposez la viande dans le four. Alimentez le câble isolant enduit de silicone sortant par le côté de la porte du four au moniteur extérieur. Ne placez jamais le moniteur dans le four. Vous pouvez utiliser les aimants au dos de l’instrument pour fixer le moniteur à l’extérieur de votre four. Lorsque la température de la sonde est au-dessus de 212 °F (100 °C) l’instrument affichera “Hi”. Lorsque la température de la sonde est au- dessous de 32 °F (0 °C), l’instrument affichera “Lo”. F. FONCTION D’ALARME Glissez l’interrupteur à “MARCHE (ON)” pour activer cette fonction. 1.Une alarme de préavertissement sonne lorsque l’aliment est au-dessous de 10 °C/°F de la température programmée. L’alarme de préavertissement émet un bip à toutes les 5 secondes et l’icône de préavertissement clignote. 2.L’alarme d’avertissement sonne lorsque la température programmée est atteinte. L’alarme émet 4 bips courts successivement et l’icône d’avertissement clignote. 3.L’alarme d’avertissement pour un aliment “trop cuit” émet un bip en continu et l’icône “trop cuit” clignote lorsque la température de l’aliment dépasse la température désirée de 10 °C/°F. • Pour arrêter temporairement l’alarme, appuyez sur le bouton “ALARME ARRÊT (ALARM STOP)”. • Pour arrêter complètement l’alarme, glissez l’interrupteur “ALARME (ALERT)” à la position “DÉSACTIVER (OFF)”. G. CHANGEMENT DES TEMPÉRATURES DE L’ALARME – FONCTION MÉMOIRE Vous pouvez changer la température préréglée de déclenchement d’alarme de différentes sortes de viandes et cuissons selon vos propres goûts et préférences. Appuyez et tenez enfoncé le bouton “MÉMOIRE (MEMORY)” pendant 2 secondes. “ALARME TEMP (ALERT TEMP)” sur le côté inférieur gauche de l’écran ACL clignote. Appuyez sur le bouton (+) ou (-) pour augmenter ou diminuer la température préréglée. Ensuite appuyez sur le bouton “MÉMOIRE (MEMORY)” pour enregistrer. La prochaine fois que vous choisirez la cuisson de la viande, la nouvelle température pour le déclenchement d’alarme s’affichera, (comme le réglage “PMG”). H. SÉLECTION °C OU °F Glissez l’interrupteur °C ou °F situé sur le côté droit de l’instrument pour choisir l’affichage de votre unité de mesure de température. I. Sélection de températures préprogrammées pour la cuisson de la sorte de viandes d’après la liste de la section C. Affiche la sorte de viandes sélectionnée pour la cuisson. Affiche la température interne de la viande à partir de la pointe de la sonde. Allume ou ferme l’instrument. Sélection de SAIGNANT, MI-SAIGNANT, À POINT, BIEN CUIT. Pour connaître la température du four, nous vous recommandons d’utiliser le BIOS Professional DT160. •N’IMMERGEZ PAS la sonde dans l’eau. L’humidité à l’intérieur de la prise de la sonde ou du thermomètre peut donner une lecture de température inexacte. Toujours essuyer la sonde avant de la brancher dans le thermomètre. •Ne pas exposer la sonde ou le fil de la sonde aux flammes du barbecue, car vous endommagerez la sonde. GARANTIE D’UN AN Si ce produit s’avère défectueux en matériaux ou fabrication à l’intérieur d’un an de la date d’achat, veuillez le retourner à l’adresse ci-dessous.
