Pensée de la semaine: La loi de l’amour
«Mon commandement, le voici: Aimez-vous les uns les autres, comme je vous ai aimés.» (Jean 15,
12). En rapport avec la loi de l’amour, voici une histoire que j’ai lue dernièrement: Un quotidien
racontait l'histoire d'un garçon atteint d'un cancer. Il avait perdu ses cheveux lors d'une
chimiothérapie. En signe de sympathie et de soutien, tous ses camarades de classe s'étaient rasés la
tête afin qu'il ne soit pas embarrassé à son retour. Le journal montrait une photo des enfants le crâne
rasé, avec ce titre: "Tout ce qu'on fait, on le fait ensemble". Wooowwww !
Avec sa loi d’amour, Jésus corrige deux autres loi qui étaient en vigueur avant lui: a) la loi de la
vengeance et b) la loi de rétribution: faire a son ennemi exactement comme lui vous a fait. Ce qu’on
a appelé: ‘œil pour œil dent pour dent’ (Lévitiques 24, 20)
Jésus instaure une troisième voie: la loi de l’amour. Plus de vengeance, plus du coup sur coup, mais
choisir de pardonner pour aimer. S’il y a des personnes à qui vous n’avez pas encore pardonné, la loi
de l’amour vous invite à leur offrir votre pardon. En pardonnant, vous les libérez mais surtout, vous
vous libérez vous-même de ce lourd fardeau qui vous empêche d’aimer.

Thought of the week : The law of love
This is my commandment: love one Reviews another, as I have loved you. (John 15: 12). In
connection with the law of love, here's a story I read recently: A newspaper told the story of a boy
with cancer. He had lost his hair during chemotherapy. As a sign of sympathy and support, all his
classmates had shaved their heads so that it he was not embarrassed when he returned. The newspaper
showed a picture of the children with shaved head, with the title: "Everything we do, we do it
together." Wooowwww!
With his law of love, Jesus fixes two other laws which were in force before him: a) the law of
vengeance and b) the law of retribution: do to your enemy exactly like he did you. What has been
called 'eye for eye and tooth for tooth "(Leviticus 24, 20)
Jesus introduces a third way: the law of love. No more vengeance, more than a quick succession, but
choose to forgive to love. If there are people you have not forgiven, the law of love invites you to
offer your forgiveness. By forgiving, you release but mostly you free yourself of the burden that
prevents you from love.
