day. He looked up and saw three men standing near
him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent
entrance to meet them, and bowed down to the
ground. He said, "My lord, if I find favor with you, do
not pass by your servant. Let a little water be brought,
and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the
tree. Let me bring a little bread, that you may refresh
yourselves, and after that you may pass on--since you
have come to your servant." So they said, "Do as you
have said." And Abraham hastened into the tent to
Sarah, and said, "Make ready quickly three measures of
choice flour, knead it, and make cakes." Abraham ran
to the herd, and took a calf, tender and good, and gave
it to the servant, who hastened to prepare it. Then he
took curds and milk and the calf that he had prepared,
and set it before them; and he stood by them under
the tree while they ate. They said to him, "Where is
your wife Sarah?" And he said, "There, in the tent."
Then one said, "I will surely return to you in due
season, and your wife Sarah shall have a son."

Il est l’image du Dieu invisible, le premier-né, avant
toute créature : en lui, tout fut créé, dans le ciel et sur
la terre. Les êtres visibles et invisibles, Puissances,
Principautés, Souverainetés, Dominations, tout est
créé par lui et pour lui. Il est avant toute chose, et tout
subsiste en lui. Il est aussi la tête du corps, la tête de
l’Église : c’est lui le commencement, le premier-né
d’entre les morts, afin qu’il ait en tout la primauté. Car
Dieu a jugé bon qu’habite en lui toute plénitude et que
tout, par le Christ, lui soit enfin réconcilié, faisant la
paix par le sang de sa Croix, la paix pour tous les êtres
sur la terre et dans le ciel. Et vous, vous étiez jadis
étrangers à Dieu, et même ses ennemis, par vos

Chemin faisant, Jésus entra dans un village. Une femme
nommée Marthe le reçut. Elle avait une sœur appelée
Marie qui, s’étant assise aux pieds du Seigneur, écoutait sa
parole. Quant à Marthe, elle était accaparée par les
multiples occupations du service. Elle intervint et dit : «
Seigneur, cela ne te fait rien que ma sœur m’ait laissé faire
seule le service ? Dis-lui donc de m’aider. » Le Seigneur
lui répondit : « Marthe, Marthe, tu te donnes du souci et
tu t’agites pour bien des choses. Une seule est nécessaire.
Marie a choisi la meilleure part, elle ne lui sera pas
enlevée. »

COOKING WITH LOCAL FOOD WORKSHOP. Saturday
July 30, 12pm to 1pm in the Undercroft kitchen. Help
cook a community meal with food from our vegetable
garden and eat it outside with our neighbours on the
lawn. The event is free, but donations are welcome to
cover costs and ensure we can continue to have a
community garden and hold workshops. Please speak to

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
BE PART OF THE CATHEDRAL'S MINISTRY OF
WELCOME. We are looking for people who would like
to become Sunday Stewards. It involves being on duty
once a month with 3 or 4 other people. Speak to Bob
King or to any of the stewards on duty.
SUMMER WEEKDAY GREETERS Sign up in the baptistry if
you can offer to greet visitors to the Cathedral for one
session (11am – 2pm or 2pm - 4:45pm) during the
summer. Training session provided.
PLEASE CONSIDER SPONSORING FLOWERS to beautify
the Cathedral in thanksgiving, in memory of a loved one,
or for the joy of offering flowers to the glory of God!
The cost of the flowers is approximately $60.00.
