As the Mini Cooper costs £19,795 (nineteen thousand seven hundred and ninety-five pounds ),
the Bentley costs £141,915 (one hundred and forty-one thousand nine hundred and fifteen pounds)
and the Rolls Royce costs £ 229,983 ( two hundred and twenty-five thousand nine hundred and
eighty pounds ), the Bentley is more expensive than the Mini Cooper but it is less expensive than
the Rolls Royce. As a conclusion the Rolls Royce is the most expensive car and the Mini Cooper is
the least expensive car.
With 5,400 mm, the Rolls Royce is longer than the Bentley (4,806 mm), which is also longer
than the Mini Cooper (3,723 mm). With 1,948 mm it is a bit wider than the Mini Cooper (1,913
mm) but far less wide than the Bentley (2,227 mm). With 1550 mm, the Rolls Royce is higher than
both the Mini Cooper and the Bentley since the latter is nearly as high as the former with 1,400 mm.
As far as the weight is concerned, the Bentley is far heavier than the Mini Cooper but 100 kgs
less heavy than the Rolls Royce.
To conclude with dimensions, we can imagine that the Rolls Royce is more comfortable than
both the Bentley and the Mini Cooper since its boot space is the biggest of the three cars. (490
litres). The Mini Cooper boot space is the smallest of the three cars.
As for the fuel consumption, the Bentley is the most energy-consuming/the greediest because it
can run only 17.1 miles with one gallon while the Rolls Royce can run 20.6 miles and the Mini
Cooper can run up to 74.3 miles with one gallon ! Therefore, the Mini Cooper is the most fuelefficient of the three cars.
Along with fuel consumption, the Bentley's fuel emissions are the highest of the three cars and
the Mini Cooper's are the lowest.

A) Adjectifs longs (plus de 2 syllabes phonétiques)
Comparé 1 + V + MORE + Adj + THAN + Comparé 2
Exemples: The Bentley is more energy-consuming than the Mini Cooper.
The Bentley is more powerful than the Mini Cooper.
B) Adjectifs courts (2 syllabes phonétiques ou moins)
Comparé 1 + V + Adj-r + THAN + Comparé 2

Exemples: The Rolls-Royce is longer than the Mini Cooper.
The Bentley is wider than the Minin Cooper.
Attention:
•
Pour les adjectifs monosyllabiques se terminant par CVC, il faut doubler la consonne finale
avant d'ajouter la terminaison du comparatif de supériorité.
Exemple: The Bentley is bigger than the Mini Cooper

Pour les adjectifs se terminant par un /y/, il faut le remplacer par un /i/ avant d'ajouter la
terminaison du comparatif de supériorité.
Exemples: The Bentley is heavier than the Mini Cooper.
The Bentley is greedier than the Mini Cooper.
Pour comparer un objet ou une personne par rapport à sa catégorie, on utilise
IV) LE SUPERLATIF
Il se construit comme le comparatif de supériorité.
A) Adjectifs longs
S + V + THE MOST + Adj + Catégorie
Exemples: The Bugatti is the most expensive car.
The Bugatti is the most powerful car.
B) Adjectifs courts
S + V + THE + Adj-st + Catégorie

Exemples: The Mini Cooper boot space is the smallest (one) (of the three cars)
