à consulter attentivement. Notez d’ailleurs que la municipalité se

vous obtiendrez les dernières nouvelles de votre municipalité! À
ce sujet, notre site Internet subira une cure de rajeunissement.
Vous êtes invités à nous envoyer vos photos de Montcalm, elles
pourraient y figurer.
Le réveil commercial, culturel et social de notre municipalité est
au centre des préoccupations du conseil municipal.
Présentement nous travaillons ardemment à recréer le
dynamisme d’autrefois dans le village de Weir. Nous croyons
fortement que le centre communautaire, la revitalisation du
village ainsi que les Habitations Stephen Jake Beaven
contribueront sérieusement dans ce sens.
Afin de poursuivre sur la voie de la revitalisation de la rue
Principale, nous sommes heureux d’avoir pu constater
l’immense participation des citoyens lors de l’audience publique
ayant eu lieu en octobre dernier. Une rue principale touche
l’ensemble des citoyens d’une municipalité, car elle illustre et
rehausse notre image et notre qualité de vie. Ainsi, depuis, le
comité de la revitalisation du village, chapeauté par Richard
Pépin, s’est rencontré à plusieurs reprises en correspondance
avec la fondation «Rues Principales» afin d’analyser les
esquisses et plans. Conséquemment, vous serez conviés en
avril prochain pour la présentation du travail et du cheminement
de la fondation et du comité. Leur raisonnement fait suite,
évidemment, à tous vos commentaires. Dès lors, cet été vous
serez témoins de travaux à cet égard, car en plus des montants
budgétés, nous bénéficierons notamment de l’octroi de
subventions dans le cadre du pacte rural. De plus, nous
tenterons d’impliquer financièrement d’autres paliers de
gouvernement pour cette revitalisation majeure.
À cet égard, le comité des Habitations Stephen Jake Beaven
recevra l’appui nécessaire de la municipalité afin que le projet
puisse s’envoler rondement. À ce jour, les préliminaires vont
bon train et la marche du projet se concrétise peu à peu. Sur ce,
il est primordial que toute la population apporte son appui absolu
à l’équipe engagée qui travaille d’arrache-pied à l’éclosion de ce
projet d’envergure.
Bref, toutes ces initiatives engagées par le conseil municipal ne
peuvent être payantes que si la population s’implique. S'engager
dans notre municipalité procure un sentiment d'appartenance et
d'accomplissement, alors pourquoi se priver d’une telle tribune.
Ce n'est pas en demeurant spectateur que nous avancerons!
Sur le volet environnemental, la tournée de sensibilisation porteà-porte du Conseil régional de l’environnement des Laurentides,
Sur le volet finances publiques, vous trouverez sur ce bulletin le
budget 2012 de votre municipalité. Pendant que le taux général
de taxation augmente de 1¢ du 100$ d’évaluation pour les
immeubles résidentiels, la taxation pour la SQ diminue de 1¢ du
100$. Vous remarquerez une nouveauté cette année avec
l’ajout de nouveaux tarifs pour le service incendie, imposé à 50$
par logement et par unité d’occupation non résidentielle et à 25$
par unité de terrain vacant. En revanche, la tarification pour la
collecte des ordures connaît une diminution marquée de 52$.
Une fois de plus, en 2012, plusieurs projets de réfection de notre
réseau routier sont prévus par notre conseil et ce, toujours dans
le cadre du Programme de transfert d’une partie de la taxe sur
l’essence et de la contribution du Québec.
Finalement je tiens à vous rappeler que chacun des membres
du conseil vous offre leur disponibilité, au besoin, et je vous
invite personnellement à venir assister aux séances mensuelles
de votre conseil lesquelles se tiennent à chaque 2ième lundi du
mois, à compter de 20:00.

invite you to read carefully. Also note that the municipality now
finds itself on Facebook. Insert it in your favorites and you will
get the latest news from your municipality! In this regard, our
website will undergo a renovation. You are invited to send us
your photos of Montcalm, they could be included.
The commercial awakening, cultural and social development of
our municipality is a central focus of the Council. Currently, we
are working hard to recreate the dynamism of the past in the
village of Weir. We strongly believe that the community center,
the revitalization of the village and the Stephen Jake Beaven
Housing project contribute seriously in this direction.
To continue on the way to the revitalization of the rue Principale,
we are pleased to have witnessed the immense participation of
citizens at the public hearing that took place last October. A
main street affects all citizens of a municipality because it
illustrates and enhances our image and quality of life. Since
then, the committee of the revitalization of the village, headed by
Richard Pepin, has met several times connectively with the
"Rues Principales" foundation to analyze the drawings and
plans. Consequently, you will be invited in April for the
presentation of the work and progress of the foundation and the
committee. Their reasoning follows all your comments of course.
So, this summer you will witness the work in this regard
because, in addition to budgeted amounts, we will benefit from
grants under the Pacte rural. Also, we will try to involve other
levels of government into participating financially for this major
revitalization.
In this regard, the Stephen Jake Beaven Housing Committee will
receive the necessary support of the municipality so that the
project can take off quickly. So far the preliminaries are well
under way and the project progresses gradually. Furthermore, it
is essential that the entire population shows absolute support to
the team committed into working very hard at the outbreak of
this major project.
In short, all initiatives undertaken by the Municipal Council can
not be successful unless the population is involved. To engage
in our community provides a sense of belonging and
accomplishment, so why deprive ourselves of such a tribune.
This is not by being passive that things will move forward.
On the environmental side, the sensitization door to door tour of
the Conseil régional de l’environnement des Laurentides,
through its program of technical support of lakes Bleu
Laurentides, combined with the actions of the inspectors,
showed a significant improvement of our lakeshores.
In regard of public finances, you will find on this newsletter the
2012 budget of your municipality. While the general rate of
taxation increases by 1 ¢ per $100 valuation for residential
dwellings, the taxation for the Provincial Police decreases by 1 ¢
per $100. You will notice something new this year with the
addition of new tarification for the fire department, applied at $
50 per door and for non-residential dwellings, and at $ 25 for
vacant lot units. However, the tax on garbage is experiencing a
noticable decrease of $ 52. Again in 2012, several projects to
improve our road network are planned by our Municipal Council,
still in the frame of the Programme de transfert d’une partie de la
taxe sur l’essence et de la contribution du Québec.
Finally I want to remind you that every member of the council
offers you their availability, if needed, and I personally invite you
to come and attend the monthly council sittings which are held
every 2nd Monday of the month, starting from 20:00 .
