Philippe Djian DATES April 26 _ May 15 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After graduating from a school of journalism in Paris and doing a series of odd jobs, Philippe Djian began writing a few short stories and novels. He gained fame with Betty Blue (37°2 le matin), the first of his highly acclaimed works of fiction to be translated into English and the basis for the award-winning film by Jean-Jacques Beineix. It remains a best seller book and cult film nearly twenty years after its first release in France. His latest novel, Unforgiveable, the story of a man whose complex life is touched by tragedies, will be published in the United States next spring. He has been invited to talk at the 2010 PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature held in New York City.
