DATES

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After graduating from a school of journalism in
Paris and doing a series of odd jobs, Philippe Djian
began writing a few short stories and novels. He
gained fame with Betty Blue (37°2 le matin), the
first of his highly acclaimed works of fiction to be
translated into English and the basis for the
award-winning film by Jean-Jacques Beineix. It
remains a best seller book and cult film nearly
twenty years after its first release in France. His
latest novel, Unforgiveable, the story of a man
whose complex life is touched by tragedies, will be
published in the United States next spring. He has
been invited to talk at the 2010 PEN World
Voices Festival of International Literature held in New York City.
