TIGNISH AND PALMER ROAD COMMUNITY BULLETIN
If you wish to place an announcement in the Community Bulletin, you can leave your notice at our
office located at 119 DeBlois Road, Tignish, send it in by fax, phone, or e-mail. Announcements must
be received no later than Thursday at noon. There will be a $20 charge per article if the group or
individuals has not in some way donated or contributed to sponsor the Community Bulletin. If you
would like a copy of our policies, please contact the office at 882-0475, ext. 147.

Our Sunday breakfast has started for the winter month from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The winner of our Veteran’s Memorial Gardens barbecue was Verna Collicutt.

TIGNISH T.O.P.S. RELAY FOR LIFE
The Tignish T.O.P.S. Relay for Life team will be holding a Christmas dabber bingo on Sunday,
November 25th at the Tignish Legion from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Beautiful Christmas prizes to be
won, 50/50, and canteen services available. Please come support this worthy cause.
CHRISTMAS AT THE ACADIAN MUSEUM
The public is invited to “Christmas at the Acadian Museum” in Miscouche, on Sunday, November 25th
at 7:00 p.m. There will be the Mont-Carmel Choir who will sing wonderful Christmas carols, the fiddler
Peter Arsenault, and young step-dancers. The audience will be invited to join in a Christmas carolling.
Festive foods, such as pâtés (Acadian meat pies) and holiday sweets, will be served. Free admission;
donations appreciated. Organized by the Acadian Museum and La Belle-Alliance.
« NOËL DE CHEZ NOUS » AU MUSÉE ACADIEN
Le public est invité à « Noël de chez nous » au Musée acadien, à Miscouche, le dimanche 25
novembre à 19h00. Il y aura la chorale de Mont-Carmel qui présentera de beaux cantiques de Noël,
le violoneux Peter Arsenault et de jeunes gigueuses. L’auditoire sera invité à entonner des chants de
Noël. Un réveillon de pâtés à la viande et de douceurs sera servi. Entrée gratuite; dons appréciés.
Organisée par le Musée acadien et La Belle-Alliance.
ST. LOUIS COMMUNITY CENTRE
On Sunday, November 25th come out and enjoy entertainment by Raymond Perry and Friends from
7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Admission is $5. Proceeds for the up-keep of the Centre.
TIGNISH HEALTH CENTRE
Dr. Sethi will be holding office hours from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Tignish Health Centre from
Monday, November 26th through Friday, November 30th. Please contact the Health Centre for an

Applications are now available at the St. Simon & St. Jude Parish Office, in Tignish (during office
hours). If you are in need, or if you know of someone in need, please stop in for one. Deadline is 4:00
p.m. on Tuesday, November 27th. Please note: PICTURE I.D. IS REQUIRED FOR THE PERSON
FILLING OUT THE APPLICATION! You will also be asked to provide I.D. for each person living in
your household.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly is a non-profit organization to help you lose weight. Whether you have 10
pounds or 100 pounds to lose, come learn how to lose weight sensibly and have fun doing it! We
meet every Tuesday. Beginning November 27th until April 30th, weigh-ins will be from 5:00 p.m.
to 5:45 p.m. and the meeting will follow at 6:00 p.m. (please note change in time) at the Tignish
Medical Centre. Please enter through the back entrance. Cost is $32 for the year and $2 every week.
PARISH OF SAINT SIMON AND SAINT JUDE, TIGNISH
The Church Decorating Committee is looking for a couple of artificial Christmas trees to use for
decorating the church at Christmas time. If you have a tree you no longer want and would like to give
to the Church, please drop it off at the Parish house before Wednesday, November 28th.

ROAST BEEF DINNER
Join us for a delicious Roast Beef Dinner on Sunday, December 2nd beginning at 12:00 noon at the
Palmer Road Community Centre. Dinner consists of roast beef with all the trimmings, dessert, tea,
and coffee. Cost is adults $10 and children $5. Proceeds will go towards the up-keep of the Hall.

PENDERGAST FAMILY CHRISTMAS CONCERT
A Christmas concert not to be missed with the Pendergast family and special guests on Sunday,
December 2nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest. Admission is $10 adult, $5
students, and free for preschoolers. Tickets can be purchased at the Centre. For more information,

LIGHTS OF HOPE
The Annual Western Hospital Lights of Hope Campaign is underway. Memorial donations will be
received at Western Hospital’s reception desk, Alberton Pharmacy, Bargain Nook, and Antrim Sisters.
Please join us for the reading of memorials and tree lighting ceremony on Monday, December 3rd at
6:00 p.m. at the Hospital’s main entrance. Donations for hospital equipment.
INTERESTED IN LEARNING CONVERSATIONAL FRENCH?
The next session of French conversational classes is beginning the week of January 14th at the
Centre acadien de Prince-Ouest. The 33 hours program runs for 11 weeks from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00
p.m., one evening a week. Registration fee is $200 per person and includes the cost of the workbook.

Western Hospital Healthcare Auxiliary is offering two $500 scholarships to 2nd year university or
college students from the West Prince area that are furthering their career in a health related field.
Students are required to outline and submit in writing their current program of studies, their
volunteering interests, and future career plans. Please explain how this scholarship will assist you
financially. Have you received other Bursaries or Scholarships? Interested students should submit
their letter, including full address and phone number to "The Scholarship Committee" of the Western
Hospital Healthcare Auxiliary, P.O. Box 10, Alberton, PE C0B 1B0. Deadline is December 27th.
