Banking Commission Seminar – Shower of
regulation on the Financial and Insurance sectors!
Where does the journey end?
9–11 June 2016
Zurich
SWITZERLAND
At the heart of the Zurich financial hub, AIJA has
gathered an interesting mix of speakers from top legal
law firms and the industry to exchange opinions and
experiences on the implementation and direction of
regulation within the financial and insurance sectors.
The Seminar aims at deepening your reflection on the
overall legal situation of companies in the financial and
insurance sectors and learn from experiences shared
by their internal and external advisers.
A lot of developments have arisen in the last few years
since a number of important banks were rescued by
governments, from the Lehman Brothers scandal to
the negotiations with the US DOJ on tax matters, the
intensive role of AML and corruption questions or the
Libor scandal. The current status on the implantation
of Basel III, Solvency II and MiFID II in Europe, as well
as a vast number of customer protection measures at
the litigation, product and organizational level will be
presented in an open forum for discussion. As these
new developments may change the way financial
institutions and insurance companies will conduct
their business in the future, it is time to take a stock of
the situation and the solutions implemented so far in
order to understand how to better advise clients in this
new environment.
The seminar will cover a broad range of topics including:
• Capital adequacy
• Customer protection at point of sale
• Civil and criminal litigation risk management
• Scope of the compliance function
• International corporate structure of financial institutions
• Future perspective
The city of Zurich, known as a savvy financial centre,
was predestined to host this seminar. Zurich is not just
a hard-working place; it is also one of most liveable
cities in the world.
With its beautiful lakeside location, its old town, its
cultural centres and galleries, and plenty of outdoors
activities available, no doubt that Zurich is a haven for
travellers and a hippest destination.
Further information on the seminar will become available in the coming months. Meanwhile, save the dates
and let us know if you are interested in becoming a
speaker – everyone is welcome to contribute.
