While busy working and helping clients grow their business, he never hesitates to share what he has learned with fellow colleagues and students. Dr. Meng is a professor at Tongji University and has published several books, including “Chinese companies: What now?” which gives us insights into the economic development issues in China from a global perspective. Moreover, his new book “From a student to a global manager – focus on Fanchen Meng”, came out on April 2013, describes authentically his personal development and career path. Dr. Meng started his career at AT Kearney in Germany and became a global VP/partner of A.T. Kearney Inc. to manage the Shanghai branch in China and their operation practice in North Asia. After developing several years of experiences in strategy development and operating improvement for clients, he joined Siemens in China with different roles, especially SVP and GM of Eastern Region, SVP and GM of Shanghai, and VP as well as president of Siemens One. Before working for Heidrick & Struggles, he was group VP and head of strategy for Asia at Lafarge in Paris and in charge of Group’s strategic development in Asia (mainly for Strategic planning, Country portfolio, and M&A/Investment). Dr. Meng received a BA in civil engineering from Tongji University in Shanghai, China, and a Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. (master) and PhD from RuhrUniversity in Bochum, Germany. Location
