Ce fantastique groupe américain est l’auteur d’un unique album, paru en 1981, « In the
following half-light », rapidement introuvable autant que recherché. Scott Stacy (lead guitares, chant),
Randy Wilson (claviers), Denny Gorden (chant), Pete Yarbrough (basse), Greg Schoppe (batterie),
Kirk Long (guitares) and Thayne Bolin (batterie) font partie des grands musiciens qui se consacrèrent
au rock progressif ! Comme d’autres groupes américains de la fin des années 70 (Nightwinds, Infinity)
NETHERWORLD a créé une musique progressive de très haut niveau inspirée par les ténors du
genre, Genesis ou E.L.P. en particulier, avec une virtuosité et une énergie toute particulières. Un peu à
la façon de Twelfth Night, Netherworld combine théâtralité vocale, arpèges de guitare, claviers
bondissants et emphatiques, avec des breaks multiples et des solis menés à vive allure, dans une
musique très écrite et construite. Cette réédition inclut la pièce néo-classique « Cumulo-Nimbus », un
titre souvent apprécié par le public du groupe en concert.

This fantastic american band released only one album, in 1981, “In the following half-light”,
which quickly became a collector. Scott Stacy (lead guitars, vocals), Randy Wilson (keyboards),
Denny Gorden (lead and backing vocals), Pete Yarbrough (bass guitar), Greg Schoppe (drums), Kirk
Long (guitars) and Thayne Bolin (drums) take place among the best progressive musicians of all
times! Just like american bands of the late seventies (Nightwinds, Infinity) NETHERWORLD
created a high-standard progressive music inspired by Genesis or E.L.P., with a special energy and
virtuosity. Not unlike Twelfth Night, Netherworld uses theatrical vocals, guitar arpeggios, bombastic
keyboards, with numerous breaks and high speed solis. This re-release also includes the instrumental
neo-classical piece “Cumulo Nimbus”, a favourite of the band for live performances.
