Building a list of occupations in demand improves our
employability measures by analyzing the short-term needs
of the labour market in the region. By providing a semiannual overview of job prospects, Emploi-Québec gives
businesses the opportunity to fill their vacant positions as
soon as possible.
A FORCEful resource sector The list of occupa ons in demand covers all aspects of employment in the
Nord‐du‐Québec region. In this regard, it provides accurate informa on
about occupa ons available to current job seekers. For the first half of
2015, the Labour Force Survey showed that there was a gain of more than
3,000 posi ons in the resource sector, both in mining and construc on, at
the expense of consumer services. However, the occupa ons shown
below confirm the changes in the market, with demand higher for jobs
requiring a voca onal, technical or professional level.
