Wolf Vostell
Artiste allemand né en 1932 à Leverkusen et décédé en 1998 à Berlin. Il a eu une
formation de lithographe entre 1950 et 53. Il étudie à l'Ecole des arts appliqués de
Wuppertal et à l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris vers 1954-55. Pour désigner son travail,
il forme le concept de 'décollage' qu'il emprunte à un article sur un accident d'avion
paru dans le 'Figaro'. Il rencontre le compositeur Stockhausen. Entre 1957-58, il
étudie à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts de Düsseldorf. Entre 1962 et 69, il édite la revue
'Dé-coll-age'. En 1962, il devient cofondateur du mouvement 'Fluxus' et co-organise
des manifestations Fluxus à Wiesbaden, Copenhague et Paris, en 1963 à NY et en 1964
à Berlin et Ulm. Il publie en 1965 la brochure 'Happening, Fluxus, Pop Art, Neuer
Realismus'. En 1968, il participe à la Biennale de Venise. Il s'installe à Berlin en 1971
et réalise le film 'Désastres'. En 1977, il participe à la Documenta 6 de Kassel. En 1981,
son train Fluxus, un musée mobile, fait escale dans 15 villes. En 85 une rétrospective a
lieu à Strasbourg. En 1990, il participe à la Biennale de Venise. En 1992 ont lieu une
rétrospective à Cologne, Bonn et Mannheim. En 1997, il obtient le Prix Hannah Höch
pour l'intégralité de son oeuvre.
