March 30, 2009 – DTC Records presents the United States debut of French saxophonist
Gaël Horellou and his Quartet in celebration of “Pour La Terre,” for one night only at New
York’s Jazz Gallery on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. Shows are at 9:00 pm and 10:30 pm.
The thirty-three year old alto player is widely known for his prominence on the French/World
electro-jazz scene as the partner of pianist Laurent de Wilde, in addition to leading his own
bands; NHX, Cosmik Connection and Explorations. His latest release on DTC Records,
“Pour La Terre” features bassist Francois Gallix, pianist Jean-Sebastien Simonoviez and
New York’s own, Ari Hoenig on drums. Recorded live at Le Sunside in Paris (May 2008),
the album features music (originals and standards) inspired by Charlie Parker, John
Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Wayne Shorter and Oliver Nelson.
A former member of Collectif Mu and co-founder of Crescent Jazz Club in the 90's in Mâcon,
Horellou’s activism in the electro-jazz scene doesn't keep him from composing and playing
jazz as frequently as possible. He has also released an electro-acoustic album on DTC
Records entitled Explorations.
Piano teacher in Salon de Provence (IMFP), Jean-Sébastien Simonoviez, has played with
James Cammack, Ari Hoenig, Francois Moutin and Essiet Essiet. Following his debut solo
piano album, Vents et Marées, he recently released Crossing Life and Strings featuring
Jean-Jacques Avenel, Riccardo Del Fra, Barre Phillips, Steve Swallow and the Opus 33

Co-founder of Collectif Mu and Crescent jazz club in Mâcon, bassist François Gallix has
taught in Lyon and at the Sofia Music Academy. He has performed with Steve Grossman,
Christian Vander, François Chassagnite, Malcolm Braff and Eric Le Lann.
Jazz drummer, composer and educator, most known for his unusual and intense approach to
drumming, Ari Hoenig leads Ari Hoenig and Punk Bop, and the Hoenig-Pilc Project together
with long time musical partner pianist, Jean Michel Pilc. He has recorded six albums as a
