Château Les Ormes de Pez
History:: The origins of Chateau Les Ormes de Pez go back to the seventeenth century. Located in the
Pez hamlet in Saint-Estephe; it got its name from the now gone ancient elms that grews on the property.
The Château and its infrastructure were built in 1792, after the division and the sale of the Château
Châ
de
Pez during the Revolution. In the 19th century, its owner was Marcel Alibert, who also ran Château
Belgrave. It remained in the family’s hands until 1927 when it was sold the ‘Société Civile du Haut
Médoc’, which was also forced to sell in 1930 because of financial problems.
Its next owner was none other than Jean Charles Cazes, who then passed it down to his son André.
