Château Les Ormes de Pez History:: The origins of Chateau Les Ormes de Pez go back to the seventeenth century. Located in the Pez hamlet in Saint-Estephe; it got its name from the now gone ancient elms that grews on the property. The Château and its infrastructure were built in 1792, after the division and the sale of the Château Châ de Pez during the Revolution. In the 19th century, its owner was Marcel Alibert, who also ran Château Belgrave. It remained in the family’s hands until 1927 when it was sold the ‘Société Civile du Haut Médoc’, which was also forced to sell in 1930 because of financial problems. Its next owner was none other than Jean Charles Cazes, who then passed it down to his son André. André Château Les Ormes de Pez is now run by Jean-Michel Michel Cazes and his son Jean-Charles. Jean The Cazes family also owns Château teau Lynch Bages in Pauillac. Soil: it is composed of a typical gravel soil with slight touches of sand and clay. Appellation: Saint - Estèphe Classification: Cru Bourgeois Vineyard: It covers 32 hectares of red varietal varietals (70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc). Wine: Chateau Les Ormes de Pez is a wine with a beautiful tannic nnic structure associated with a fullbodied and spicy blackcurrant-blackberry blackberry nose.
