Guillaume: Alors, comme ça, j'ai appris
que tu avais acheté un appartement ?
Océane: Hi Guillaume, how are you ?
Guillaume: Super bonne nouvelle !
Guillaume: So, as a matter of
course (literally, like that), I
heard/learnt that you'd bought a flat/an
appartment ?
Océane: Yes, we've just bought an
appartment in the 5th district/borough in
Lyon with my boyfriend, we're thrilled,
it's great
Guillaume: Great news !
Océane: Alors et toi, comme ça, tu
rentres juste d'Australie ?
Océane: So, as a matter of course,
you're just back from Australia ?
Guillaume: Oui, effectivement, je rentre
de 7 mois en Australie, je suis encore
fatigué du décalage horaire
Guillaume: Yes, indeed I am, I'm back
from 7 months in Australia, I'm still
tired from the time difference/jetlag
Océane: Tu m'étonnes, avec ce long
trajet, tu dois être tout déboussolé, tu
es parti avec qui ?
Océane: (lit. You surprise me = meaning,
you don't surprise me ! - sarcastic, tu
m'étonnes is a common French
expression), you must be disorientated
(lit. Un-compassed)
Guillaume: I went with my girlfriend, we
spent some extraordinary months
Océane: Oui, nous venons d'acheter un
appartement dans le 5ème
arrondissement de Lyon avec mon ami,
nous sommes ravis, il est super
Guillaume: Je suis parti avec ma copine,
on a vraiment passé des mois
extraordinaires
Océane:Ah, j'imagine ! Raconte-moi ça
Guillaume: Nous sommes arrivés à Darwin
au mois d'août, nous avons acheté un van,
Océane: Oh, I can imagine. Tell me
about it
Guillaume: We arrived in Darwin in
August, we bought a caravan/camping car
