Reflexology Therapy and its many
Healing Benefits– Carole Faguy
Learn the basics about Reflexology, a simple yet effective healing modality, starting with its origins in ancient cultures around the world, up to its current use as a viable complemen-
tary therapy. Participants will get a general overview of the main reflex points of the feet and hands and their specific nerve pathways) to the various organs, glands and parts of the body. They will discover how to view their feet and hands as microcosms of their bodies and learn the basics for stimulating certain areas for common conditions. OR
Family Diversity and Strategies to end
Homophobia– Elana Wright and Valerie
Mallamo
Youth subjected to homophobic harassment are more likely to
experience loneliness, anxiety, emotional problems and low selfesteem, as well as difficulty integrating with their peers. They are
more inclined to skip classes, may get lower grades, and can even
lack the confidence necessary to meet their academic potential.
As they get older, youth can develop high-risk behaviors such as
alcohol and drug abuse, and unsafe sexual practices. Some may
even contemplate suicide. This workshop includes information
about homoparental families, methods to promote positive integration of LGBT youth and homoparental families, strategies,
best practices and resources to promote respect for diversity.

P r a c t i t i o n e r ’ s d a i l y s t r e s s e s –
Dr.Sheryl Beller
Health-care workers - whether doctors, nurses, administra-
tors, or self-employed holistic complementary care practi-
tioners – work in stress-filled environments that may nega-
tively affect their health, well-being, performance, productiv-
ity, morale, and job satisfaction. These may result in burnout, anxiety;; depression, and decreased empathy or focus. We will never eliminate stress from our lives, but we can learn to manage and reverse its damage. HeartMath® research indi-
cates that the key to stress reduction, optimal health and lifelong vitality is directly related to our ability to self-regulate our emotional experience in stressful situations. New re-
search in the field of neuro-cardiology show us that negative emotions lead to increased disorder, known as incoherence, in the heart’s rhythms and in the nervous system;; in contrast, positive emotions create synchronization, called, coherence, in the heart’s rhythms and the nervous system. Join us to see, in real-time, using HeartMath biofeedback technology, how your emotions affect your heart. Learn some simple exercis-
es that are designed to reduce the negative impact of stress on your body by shifting your negative reactions in the mo-
ment they occur. It’s as easy as breathing! Your heart and your health will thank you for it!
