FIG elected its President.
THE ASSEMBLY RENEWS BRUNO GRANDI CONFIDENCE!
Cancun(MEX) / FIG Office, October 26, 2012: The 106 FIG member federations present
at Cancun have elected their President for the Olympic cycle 2013 - 2016, in renewing
their confidence in the person of Prof. Bruno Grandi (ITA), incumbent President and in
charge since the Atlanta (USA) Congress in 1996. The elected President received 68
votes against 24 to Vassily Titov (RUS) and 14 votes to Adrian Stoica (ROU), both
candidates for this highest function.
After the vote, Prof. Grandi did not hide his satisfaction and addressed his first
comments to the two other candidates, inviting them to join their efforts and energies to
carry all the reforms needed for FIG. "We must bring our efforts together in order that
Gymnastics confirms its reputation and popularity within the public and within the
Olympic movement and finds the resources to further develop the huge potential it holds
through its disciplines! " also declared the elected President.
In Cancun, the election continues today, the day after which the FIG will have renewed
all of its authorities.

La FIG a élu son Président.
L'ASSEMBLEE RENOUVELLE SA CONFIANCE EN BRUNO GRANDI !
Cancun (MEX) / FIG Office, le 26 octobre 2012 : Les 106 fédérations affiliées à la FIG
et présentes à Cancun ont élu leur Président pour le cycle olympique 2013 - 2016, en
renouvellement leur confiance en la personne du Prof. Bruno Grandi (ITA), Président
sortant et en charge depuis le Congrès d'Atlanta (USA) de 1996. Le Président réélu a
obtenu 68 voix, contre 24 à Vassily Titov (RUS) et 14 voix à Adrian Stoica (ROU), tous
deux candidats à cette fonction suprême.
A l'issue du vote, le Prof. Grandi n'a pas caché sa satisfaction et s'est adressé en premier
lieu aux deux autres candidats malheureux, les invitant à joindre leurs efforts et leurs
énergies pour mener ensemble les réformes dont la FIG a besoin. « Nous devons unir tous
nos efforts pour que la gymnastique confirme sa notoriété et son audience auprès du
public et au sein du mouvement olympique et qu'elle trouve les ressources pour
développer encore l'immense potentiel qu'elle possède à travers ses disciplines ! » devait
encore déclarer le Président élu.
A Cancun, les élections se poursuivent aujourd'hui, journée au terme de laquelle la FIG
aura renouvelé l'ensemble de ses autorités.
